Very Short Bible Verses Novels & Stories

While doing the laundry, Marie’s thoughts were back on the conversation made by Mrs. Grace Reyes. With the bible in hand, Grace asked her, “Are you familiar with John 3:16?” “Yeah!” “But do you understand what that verse is all about?” “It says that God loved the world that He gave Jesus Christ, His only son and we will not be in condemnation but have eternal life.”

“What the hell am I meant to do with this?” The monk’s eyes burned with irritation at his swear word and Eli gulped, whispering an apology. Turning away from him for a moment, he returned with a large bible and plopped it on the desk. “Open the book of proverbs chapter 30, verse 8. And read it aloud.” It took a moment for Eli to find it, but when he did, he cleared his throat and croaked. “‘Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither povery nor riches, but give me only my daily bread.”

I demand, holding it until he takes hold of it. “For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” Thane reads the first chapter, halting as he stares at me. “Go on” I say, pointing towards the bible.
