So, he wouldn’t watch any evil happen to her. Then she crawled to the place she kept the holy book called “Bible” then grabbed it as she hastily flipped to the book of Isaiah 41: 10: Fear not, I am with you…” And having read it, she muttered a few lines of prayer, such prayers that have the semblance of the first verse of the Lord’s prayer. But it would have been lengthy if she was with her old man. She knew that her old man would spank/yell at her for saying such a short prayer for such a terrible dream.

My breath caught. "I'm not asking you to volunteer," she continued smoothly. "I'm simply observing that you have a choice to make. The Bible tells us to love thy neighbor as thyself. To bear one another's burdens. Galatians 6:2—'Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.'" She opened a drawer, pulling out a leather-bound Bible. Her fingers traced the gold-edged pages.

“There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.” Please note, dear reader that the Bible verses are from Psalm 91. I took out my phone and typed these words in my notepad. "Now if you are here and you have not accepted Jesus as your lord and savior, this is your chance to get right with God, to become His child and enjoy the benefits that come with being a new creation." He said, quoting the book of Romans, chapter eight, verse one as well as the second book of Corinthians, chapter five, verse seventeen.

I thought to myself. But then... She began taking me through the Bible.... She made those inspiring verses known to me and explained them all to me in detail. Some of those verses are; Jeremiah 1:5 Which says, “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. " Psalms 139:16 Which says, " You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. "

"Correct. I pressed the button and answered the question again and again. She did it and answered four questions correctly but I still surpassed her. The freak almost yelled at me what the fuck is her problem? Then just one question left. Daniel Cruz who is acting as the mc announced. I won't bother pressing the button. I will talk. That's what I will do. "What is the shortest verse in the bible?" "John 11:35" I answered. "John 14:8," Loretta said. "Which says Jesus wept." I backed up my answer with what it said. "John 14: 8 is wrong." I bite down my lips nervously. "John 11:35 is correct!" The moment he announced that I heaved a sigh of relief. I was okay. My school cheered for me. I felt

Aside from that, there's no harm in trying. I took out my phone and opened the bible app that came with it, and to my amazement, Mister Handsome was correct. "Proverbs 4:25 says, 'Let your eyes be straight ahead; fix your gaze directly ahead of you.'" The bible chapters from Proverbs were exalted. I suddenly recall something, and things start to make sense to my ear. "Wait! "I thought it was a romantic way of saying sorry?" I asked. "Well. As you can see, the Bible is chock-full of surprises." Mister handsome remarked, smiling.

He won’t know what’s coming for him. “Peace I leave with you,” my voice boomed into the mic, quieting down the whispers going around the hall. I eyed the paper set in front of me and realised that this was my speech. Skimming through it, I decided against it, pushing it aside before meeting the world in the eyes. “My peace I give to you. Not as the world…giveth; give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither…let it be afraid.” I see the pope nodding his head with a smile of his own, no doubt recognising the script. “John 14;27. My mother’s all-time favourite verse in the Bible,” I bring my hand to my chest, right where my heart is. Above the chain tattoo, I’d tattooed the very same

I said with a fake smile of my own, and her smile immediately died down. ‎ ‎"I have a question queen. You say you love God, but what does your bible say? to pray for your husband's downfall or to bless them?" She asked with a straight face, her gaze narrowing at me. I opened my mouth to speak but unfortunately my tongue felt stuck. ‎She smiled sheepishly, bet she knew she got me exactly where she wanted. ‎"It is said ‘‘wives obey your husband” and that a good wife prays for her husband's well being, or did your mother not teach you those things?" She asked , her tone hinting at more mockery than doubting.

I stepped beside him just as he was crumpling the paper in a clenched fist. “Neo.” He turned to me, smiled, and threw the crumpled note away. “Nothing important.” My brows furrowed. “What do you mean nothing important?” I bent to pick up the paper, unfolding it carefully as he walked past me inside. It was truly a Bible. And it read; Leviticus 18:22 ‘You shall not lie with a man as with a woman; it is an abomination.’ Chills spread through my body. The second one read.
