I rolled off the bed, already pulling on my boots.
Thomas stirred, groaning softly. “You think it’s another fight?”
I didn’t answer. He was smart enough to know the silence meant yes.
We moved fast. Down the hallway, up the iron steps, through the corridor that reeked of sweat, bleach, and blood. Cell Block B had been cleared out, and in its place stood six trainers and a single table.
One envelope sat in the center.
Felix was already there, leaning against the far wall, arms crossed, her mouth set in that permanently pissed-off scowl. She didn’t acknowledge me. I didn’t expect her to.
