Violet Evergarden X Gilbert Novels & Stories

Merlin’s body glowed white, and her eyes went from green to white, as she held out her hand and a sphere of white light formed in her palm. Gilbert sensed the change in the air and stopped, his eyes fixed on Merlin as she floated down in front of him, her feet gently landing on the ground in front of him. He saw the light sphere in her hand, just as it hurtled toward him, striking him square in the chest and sending him flying halfway across the field, into the trees. He landed in the undergrowth, dazed and breathless, his heart thundering inside his ribcage. He saw her, coming across the field, and he quickly got to his feet and rushed out to meet her.

Violet's POV -Flashback- It was a nice morning, when I noticed this light reflection coming from the garden of the vacation house. I acted as if I didn't see it so I can come up with a plan. Our men can't know about whoever is it that is watching us. If our men would realize what I know, they would be on high alert. "Gilbert, what do we have for breakfast?" Gilbert looked at me like he knows something. I've always known that Gilbert was the traitor, but Franklin wouldn't listen to me. He was so keen on believing that Gilbert was one of his loyal men.

Violet spent the entire night knitting, completing the scarf. - In the morning, she folded the scarf neatly, pressed her face against it, and smiled contentedly. She had replicated the design sketch perfectly, creating something unique for him. Despite dark circles, Violet arrived at work in good spirits. Gilbert presided over a morning meeting on Friday. Violet was required to attend as the designer. The meeting room was bright and orderly. Hearing a murmur, Violet looked up to see Lucius walking past the window. His stride was confident and his demeanor noble, shining like a distant, brilliant star.

Although Mila had told her that the pack members rarely entered the garden, she still had to take precautions in case people like Jenedeith sauntered in. The thought of that rude woman made her blood boil. She recalled the way she treated Mila, called her slave and insulted her. Then she was Xavier's mistress meaning she'd be here regularly. Violet sat beside a beautiful red rose bush, and bringing her knees up, she leaned close and enjoyed the sweet scent of the flowers. She slowly traced their little buds and stem, then hissed quietly when something pricked her finger and she just starting to suck on it when a small growl froze her.

Harold's men immediately charged toward Iris. "Don't you dare touch my daughter!" Gilbert roared. Though he was bound to his wheelchair, his power remained. He launched a punch, sending waves of power force toward the martial artists. "Know your place!" Harold scoffed and waved his hand to send his own energy toward Gilbert. "Baam!" Following a deafening sound, Gilbert was sent flying with his wheelchair and slammed against the ground. Upon landing, he spat blood and it became clear to everyone in the hall that he suffered severe internal injuries.
