I roared, “and slap each of them as hard as you can!” Violet moved quickly. She rose from the bed, still wrapping her naked body in the large royal sheet, and stepped toward them. She slapped them. Once. Twice. Three times. They all looked shaken… but Mirella broke first. She was the softest. Smoking was the one thing she did better than anyone. She ran. She returned with the book. The words were spoken. And just like that, the mark vanished from Violet’s palm. Violet cried. She ran to me.

His back was stiff, though he pretended everything was normal. Violet sat in the rocking chair by the window, opened her book, and tried to read. But every little sound from behind her made her ears twitch; she didn’t even get through two pages. When it was her turn to wash up, she came out to find the rose petals already cleaned away. She ran her fingers through her still-warm, freshly blown-dry hair and walked toward the living room—Julian was on the couch with his laptop open, typing nonstop, totally absorbed. Busy.

“Sort of. I mean, she wasn’t exactly social, but we… talked sometimes. I thought I’d come say hello.” Her eyes flicked to the journal on the table. “You’re… reading her notes?” I closed it gently. “Trying to make sense of them.” She hesitated, then took a step inside, uninvited but harmless. “Elara was… different,” Violet said, scanning the cottage. “She saw things most people pretend not to. She believed in the old ways.” I frown in confusion, “The old ways?” She smiled. “You’ll see.” I wasn’t sure if that was a promise or a warning.

“That’s a lie, and we both know it. You feel something for me, and if you just give in, I promise you that there will be a mate bond.” Give in? I stutter, my mind reeling. “Give in? To what, exactly?” I try to push back, to regain some semblance of control over the situation. The amusement that had been twinkling in his eyes moments ago is gone now, replaced by a serious, almost pleading look. “To me, Violet,” he says softly. “Give in to how you feel about me. Give in to us.” “But,” I begin hesitantly, my voice barely more than a whisper, “all the lies...the secrets...”

Violet opened her glassy eyes, a drop of tears streaming down the side of her face. "Cum inside me," she said without breaking eye contact. Another command. "Ugh," I felt my blood rush there, making me dizzy for a second as I straightened in my kneeling position and let it all out. All out, all in, because I could feel her getting filled up as she held her boobs and squeezed her eyes shut, grinding her orgasm against me as I slammed in with the rest of mine. As the last drop entered her, I collapsed on her side, ready to pull out when she tightened her hold on my waist.

His small body curled softly against me, warm and trusting, and I pressed my cheek lightly to the top of his head. Across the courtyard, Violet abandoned her conversation and made her way to the trays again. Her steps lost their earlier confidence. She looked over each bottle, her breath growing uneven as she searched for the one she had planted. She found it in the wrong position and froze. She whispered something under her breath, then lifted it too quickly, like she expected it to disappear from her hand.

Violet (POV) After dinner, I went to my room and looked at my phone. I see thousands of text messages from my friends I started answering them. After a few minutes, I sat down on a chair next to my window and started to think about what happened the last few days First Mia and Chad died then I found out that they weren't even my real parents, I came to live with my dad and brothers and they are the fucking leaders of the mafia, Murphy comes back and my new friend is his sister, I get kidnapped almost raped

I cut her off, feeling the pound of my heart. She looks at me, and her eyes fill with tears. "I read the book - All the bright places. That is not your story, Viola. You are not Finch, you are Violet, all the colours in full brightness, and it hurts so much that you can not see yourself how we see you." She quietly cries and I will very much like to blame her tears on the pregnancy and on not that I broke her heart. "You saved my life, Viola." She dries her tears with a tissue.
