"Don't worry. No one will get to bully you." I leaned into his arms, sniffling, "My finger hurts so much. Thank goodness you came when you did…" Dylan was staring fixedly at us, completely ignoring Lily's screams as he suddenly said, "Dad, you're being too close to Wendy. That's improper—just put her down. I know I've made a mistake…" "What's improper?" John snapped. "And quit using Wendy's first-name. She is your elder—I will be marrying her next month."

“Let’s go, little guy. We are going back to your Dad. I don’t see your Mom though.” Scottie looked up and met the pair of sad eyes from the big guy that held him the entire rough car ride. It was the big guy that made him feel safe despite the circumstances. Scottie heard everything. He might not understand everything, but he knew one thing—they were at the mercy of his father. “Kid, does your father really buries people in walls?” The big guy found a topic as he slowly went out the SUV. He was not really curious about this. Seeing how far that Elijah would do to get back his son, the big guy knew that the kid was not lying.

I whispered and then turned to my dad, "Dad, that's Myron Wilson..he took all of Annabel's asset and disappeared three years ago!" Unconcerned, my father gave a careless, "Oh," "Dad!" "Oh c'mon, Scott! It's been three years, besides Annabel is dead. It would cost us a lot to try and bring back what we already lost." "The company is breaking down, this is just what we need to revive it after all, the company is still signed under our name!" I explained. "We can't do nothing, Scott," he said to me, "Do you know who this Myron is??"

My dad was at the head of the table since he was still the chairman while I sat down beside him. “ We demand that you stepped down as the CEO of this empire, Michael. Ever since you became CEO, scandals have been your middle name. First was the issue with the Austin Walker and Mia Walker. Now, you are also dragging us with Deborah Melton and her father ” A bald head man said as I turned to glare at him. I've always hated him which is why I didn't bother to know his name.

I was the only one in the family who wasn't a fan of smoking, even though mom and Lynn had tried to get me to smoke, I turned them down and they would always say I was unfit to be of mafia blood. The Don walked to where my father was. "You are officially a member of blue Scorpion, you'll receive a package telling you all you have to do," he uttered and my father grinned widely as he bobbed his head. "Thank you, Don." My father appreciated, the man said nothing rather he fixed his gaze on me. "Let's go, Maggie." I nodded like a little child as I lagged behind him. The other man he came with walked behind us. He stopped and turned to me," You first," he said putting his hands in front of him.

"He'll pick you up on Friday. Try to stay out of trouble, okay?" I slipped into the passenger seat while Dad started the engine. Mom waved from the doorway as we pulled away. A few minutes into the drive, Dad cleared his throat. "Just a heads-up, pumpkin. The Walkers live in one of the most prestigious buildings in Manhattan. Lots of important people live there, so just… stay away from the neighbors, alright?" I frowned. "Important how?" "Rich. Very rich. And you know how those people are... I don't want you showing up in a few months dating some singer with a drug problem."

Allison said and laughed it off. "I'm not lying. He said those exact words to me and I find it hard to believe. Mum,you said Dad worked at Anderson Corporation, right? You're correct. He worked directly under Scott's Dad and they were close. Scott's Dad was murdered too" Kylie explained as she sat up. "My goodness! He was really murdered? There were only speculations then but he w as really murdered? I can't believe this, but who...who did that?" Olivia asked. "It's Scott's uncle, Benson Dawson. He wanted the company"

I never understood why Ellie was so insecure, especially when she was such a capable and remarkable person. I had several investigators look into her earlier life. That was when I discovered that her biological parents had abandoned her and that she later ended up with her adoptive father. He didn't know how to show care, so everything about him came off blunt and chilly. She came to believe that he didn't care for her either. Ellie's quiet nature set her apart at school, and her classmates seldom approached her. In high school, I often saw her eating bread alone. I figured her family was broke, so I slipped a thick wad of cash into her backpack. "From now on, you are one of my crew. This is

He was giving me a fake smile and speaking through gritted teeth. “Mr. and Mrs. Matt and Adele Montgomery, you should have trained your son well.” I clicked my tongue at them, my heart calming down for the first time since I reached there. “I would make sure to get you a fair share of your punishment for being a bad parent.” The father's eyes widened, but he quickly regained his composure. I removed my phone from my pocket and dialed a very familiar contact. Sylvester Warner. His father was the vice chancellor of this university, and he owes me a favor.

I breathed. "I want him to come here when he thinks I'm gone," Adrian said, his fingers grazing my jawline. "Tell him I have a board meeting tomorrow at 10:00 AM. Tell him the house will be empty except for you. Tell him if he wants Adrian Que, he has to come and see it." I looked into his eyes, and for a second, the fear vanished, replaced by a dark, twisted thrill. I was being blackmailed by the son, but I was being protected by his father.
