Walking Dead Season 1 Shane Novels & Stories

He’d lost. Gabe squatted by my side, his head cocked, his gaze on me. I felt him, I felt him scrutinizing me but I couldn’t look away. I was stuck at this moment in time, forced to watch Ethan kill Shane, forced to watch Shane die. No matter who dies here today, my heart would break. Shane’s eyes rolled into the back of his head, his head lolling as Ethan held him up by the hair. Blood oozed from the back of his head. Ethan glared down at him, leaning forward, he spat in Shane’s face.

The one who once vanished like smoke. Her name alone parts the air. She walks through the front of the Packhouse like she’s done it a thousand times. No fear. Just quiet knowing. And then— “Lumina?” She turns. Shane stands at the hallway entrance, barefoot in leggings and a hoodie, her mouth hanging open. Her eyes lock on Lumina’s face, then drop quickly to her belly. “Oh my god.” Lumina doesn’t respond. Shane doesn’t wait. She runs forward and throws her arms around her. The breath leaves Lumina’s lungs as they collide, but she doesn’t pull away. They hold on tightly, neither saying anything for a long, shaky moment.

Valeria looked at it; there weren't any words, as if someone was hiding something. Shane glanced at the tombstone, "I'm not very sure. Weren't you saying you won't let me sleep in the room tonight? If you don't leave, I'll go home and occupy it first!" After saying that, he took her hand and walked away. Valeria couldn't help but look back. Was Shane's reaction strange? Or was she thinking too much? ***

As he lifts me to my feet, he leans in close. “I’ll find you tonight, green eyes,” he whispers. “And there’ll be no escaping then.” He lets go without another word and jogs back onto the field. Harold, now sitting on the bench, rushes over and throws my arm around his shoulder, helping me down the tunnel and toward the locker room. My entire body is in severe pain, but it’s nothing compared to the chaos swirling in my head as realization slowly sets in. Shane is a werewolf. Just like me.

I hadn’t even realized before now how many had come out to the island, but it was quite crowded up here. “All right, there will be one more more meeting before you all go out, bring the vamps up to speed. I can’t promise Godfrey and Dina won’t just show up and make it a blood bath, I think they’re both too tired of the shit already. But we can’t be that stupid, they probably expect us to just go in with our balls out ready to throw down,” Shane said, straight faced. I forgot how forward he is sometimes, but he holds your attention. Unfortunately mine was already gone, stuck on the fact that I may be able to spend the day with Meadow. How could I impress her? Maybe have a lunch date?

I shook my head and wiped his eyes. “We will always be yours Xavier. And you are never alone. In anything. You shall always find me by your side.” “I love you. I am sorry for pushing you away.” He connected our foreheads and I smiled, basking in his scent and warmth. “What happened to him?” I asked Shane, who was silent all along. “He had his first shift.” “Shift?” Lucas, Xavier and I asked together. “Yes. Xavier is a vampire.”

But suddenly Shane is there. He leaps in front of Sabrina before she can deliver the fatal blow. He takes it instead. I watch, horrified, as Sabrina's fangs sink into Shane's neck. He screams and falls to the floor. He is covered in blood and gasping for air. I am frantic. "Shane, no. You cannot die." I hold him in my arms. "Shane, don't leave me," I cry. He is bleeding. He is dying. I remember how I felt when Tanner died.

“I wouldn’t rule it out, I guess, but I can guarantee you I won’t be timid like I was with Gina. If I find her, she’s going to know she’s mine right away.” “Let’s hope she agrees with you,” said Sean with a hint of wryness. “Yeah.” Shane shrugged again. “Are you taking a shower?” Sean sniffed himself theatrically. “I guess I’d better. Yuck.” Shane laughed, watching his brother walk into the shower room. He’d find the energy to follow in a bit. His thoughts were still heavy with the night’s events, and his eyes wanted to close, but he finally made himself stand up and join the others, who were trickling out of the shower room by the time he got himself together.

"Mr. Whalen stayed up late to have fun. He's still in bed…" Just as the housekeeper finished talking, Saul had made his way to Shane's room upstairs. He opened the door. His legs turned weak when he saw the state Shane was in. He had to lean against the door to remain standing. Shane was lying in bed. His face was pale, and the foam by his mouth had already dried. He wasn’t moving at all. The housekeeper who followed him couldn’t help but scream in terror.

He followed up. "These will be useful. It didn't cross my mind but since your family is familiar with us, the grim reapers, they'll probably notice everything and will immediately get rid of us as soon as we step a foot on that town," Mara said and the took everything Shane has given to her to change her get up. "Makes sense," Damien whispered. Shane nodded and went into his room in a quiet manner. He seems lost in his thoughts. Well, he really is. Shane worries a lot as the time runs. He is a hundred percent sure that even if they haven't set a foot in the town yet, his grim reaper companions' foot are already six feet under the ground already. Just like him.
