Foundation, The People’s System, Hegemony of Free Peoples Matriarch de Jardin walked down the spacious corridors of the Eternal Hall with lengthy, purposeful strides. Alongside her was one of the Grand Parliamentarians, who despite his age was able to keep up with her pace. Trailing behind the two of them was a handful of their aides, assistants, and personal guard. There was even a Parliamentarian Voice among them, though he did his best to stick right by his charge. The ‘crowd’ was not for him.

Johnny rolled his eyes, making no attempts to stop the witch as she stormed out of the kitchen. It had been several hours since Ursula made her discovery and since then, everyone had been flying around the place trying to slow down a mass shift. However, Johnny couldn't help but think they were too late. Now the wolven spirits had been given a chance to awaken, they would do what they could to stay awake. It was simply a case of natural survival instincts. But he followed orders and the orders were to slow down a mass shift until they all understood a bit more of what was happening.

Ash whispered, “Divinity?” Isabella’s stomach dropped. “I’m not a god.” The silver gaze returned to her. Not yet. The ground seemed to tilt. Rex’s hand closed around hers. Firm, grounding. “Explain what you are.” The stranger studied him coolly. “I am a Warden.” “Of what?” Kael demanded. “Of thresholds.” Ash frowned. “Thresholds between what?” The Warden’s gaze drifted briefly toward the sky where faint cracks still shimmered like healing scars.

His heart that felt like being dried out by some sort of forces, and he would never allow anyone or any entities to erase some traces of his being! “Come out at once,” his gentle voice broke the silence of the night. One needs the enormous focus to realize what is wrong, but Eterfinite saw through everything. There's...a bit of death that slowly fades away in his heart. This aura of death...is once strong, yet how possible he able to surpass it?

The Valkyrie-Apex armor shrieked a critical damage warning. "Physical attacks are irrelevant," the Warden mocked, expanding its mass. "I am the weight of a thousand dead worlds. I am inflation. I multiply your suffering." Suddenly, the single chain multiplied into a hundred, then a thousand, filling the air with a deadly web of gravitational whips. Jack coughed, wiping the blood from his mouth. He looked at his HUD. The Warden's mass was constantly fluctuating, inflating its attack power exponentially. Jack couldn’t match it physically; the creature was literally using physics as a cheat code.

The stone beneath the dais shuddered. Not a quake. Not a collapse. A breath. Like something ancient had just inhaled for the first time in a century, and it didn’t like the air it found. “I don’t like that sound,” Elias muttered, shaking blood from his claws. The Warden’s remains smoked at his feet, still twitching with dying magic. Prince. 17. Kade’s son. “Wardens don’t die alone. They’re bound to things older than them. Nasty things.”

“Why do you look so pale? You should go home and rest.” Cherry immediately pouted. “Come on, baby, I’m scared. It’ll be easier if there are more people. Let Ana stay just for this one game.” Evan hesitated, then looked at me. “Can you hold on a little longer? I’ll drive you back after this.” I held his gaze for a moment, then nodded. My body was barely holding on. The haunted house’s freezing drafts did not help. I swayed and reached for Evan’s arm, just looking for something to steady myself.

A tall figure stepped out. It looked like a wolf, but its fur was pure white and its eyes were gold. Power rolled off it in waves. "I am the Warden of the Border," it said calmly. "No cursed blood is allowed to cross into these lands." It looked straight at my belly. "Especially not one that carries the end of our world." Damien growled and tried to stand in front of me again. The Warden smiled. "And now… you have brought it straight to my door."

"If Lord Vane has sent out a hunting party set on the mountains, eventually they will come for us. We must have the Daywalker Amulets." I approached the large doors. I didn't have to find a lock. I sucked on the wound on my finger, widening the cut. I pressed my bloodied palm to the middle of the red wards. Welcome, Warden, the magic whispers in my mind. The red wards suddenly blazed white. The huge black doors slowly, creakingly opened, breaking the seal that had been in place for decades. We emerged from the frigid sunlight into the gloom and silence of the temple's interior.
