A glance to my left and out my tower window showed a group of men running with a long piece of rolled parchment across the field from the war room attached to the barracks. It had to be at least ten feet tall, and I knew it was even wider. I nodded with determination. This could work. "Have the room cleared. I want the tables and chairs out." I gripped his hand, squeezing it appreciatively before releasing him and striding over to my cabinets to grab supplies.

I had to blink a few times before I could focus on the contents of the room. When I could look around, I saw things that didn't seem to belong in my world. The walls were lined with glass screens and data stations. In the center of the room were shelves lined with containers. The containers held samples of both human and wolf parts. Skin, hair, nails, fangs. The last thing I noticed was a long flat table, with a white cloth hanging over it. It was long enough for a full-grown man to lay on it. A great metal arm, with dozens of interchangeable instruments attached to it, hovered just above the table, menacingly.

No one spoke as I entered. The circular chamber stretched wide beneath the carved ceiling, ancient symbols etched into black stone glowing faintly where magic pulsed through them. At the center of the room stood the war table—an enormous slab of obsidian layered with shifting territorial markings and ward lines that moved like silver veins beneath the surface. Every seat was occupied, which already told me this was not a routine meeting.

After making sure that all of their pack members were accounted for and were seen at the Pack hospital for a once over, all of the warriors and the Royal bloodline were in the war room for a debriefing. The war room was designed for delicate matters, such as attacks on the pack, the pending war with Blood Moon, and other issues that may come along. The war room was 6,000 square feet and there were multiple tables placed inside. In the front of the room was a projector, if needed. To the right was a fridge for drinks, to the left was a tactical unit and to the back of the room were two big wooden doors.

Every few seconds, the light-map updated, tiny red triangles shifting along a narrow stretch labeled Red Vines Ravine. A thin vein of deep green ran alongside it — the Wasteland border trenchworks. This wasn’t the silence of debate waiting to happen — this was the silence of people watching a blade being drawn.

The walls still held the same maps, the same ward markings, the same symbols that had protected the pack for generations. But tonight, it felt like none of it was enough. I stood at the far end of the table, arms folded tightly across my chest, forcing myself to stay still while every instinct inside me screamed to move.

Now that they had formed 4 human tables without the need for chairs, Mel (who now held the mike) said with a warm smile

The guy must have said yes because grandpa asked me, "How long do you think they should be." I looked at snake who thought about it for a few seconds before he said, "Frank, I think they should be at least eight-foot-long for a tabletop and at least four foot wide. That way you can put the food down the middle of the table and have room on each side for people to put their drink and plate down."
