Carved into it, the letters an ocean shade of blue, it read: This is your final warning. Do not waste it. “Our final warning?” I breathed, pinching the bridge of my nose. “What does that mean? Have we had any warnings prior to this? And who could do something like this? It looks like magic, or technology that's too advanced for us to have.”

He forcefully held up his hand as if to indicate everyone should stop, everything should stop. “Miranda, the world is a very fucked up place.
