The other warriors are standing to attention but it is at utmost important that the new recruits will be ready if a war should break out. Although there has been stirrings I am communicating with their Alpha.

And then my eyes catch on a figure standing slightly apart from the others. He's leaning against a wooden post, arms crossed, a study in contained power. Unlike the others, who are loud and animated, he is utterly still, a statue carved from shadow. The torchlight catches the severe line of his jaw, the unruly shock of dark hair that falls across his forehead. He's tall, broad-shouldered, filling out the simple training tunic in a way that speaks of coiled power. There's an intensity about him, a palpable aura of danger that sets him apart even from the other warriors. He isn't just confident; he's lethal. A wolf among wolves.

The banner still burned above the atrium ceiling. Moore / Calder Bright. Unyielding. A symbol Briarcrest believed it had forged. Nyx looked back at Alaric. “Here’s the real question,” she said. “What question?” Her smile sharpened slightly. “When we break…” Thunder rumbled faintly beyond the academy walls. “what else breaks with us?”

Hendrix noted his hesitance and scoffed inwardly. King William led the warriors to fight the barbarians. The other countries had already turned their back on Avalon. They could fight the vampires but not the barbarians. Those savages did not just kill, they killed brutally. Avalon was on its own and was receiving help only from Attiha. The country had already suffered a loss of warriors during the vampires attack.

Because I’m not exactly the soft, smiling kind of leader.” He pulled back just enough to tilt my chin up. “Good. Because I didn’t fall in love with soft and smiling. I fell in love with a warrior.” “A blind warrior.” “A warrior who sees more than anyone else.” I bit my lip. “You’re going to make me cry.”

Onyx whispers as he prepares to defend us. She smiles at him sweetly before launching into her speech. “More than I would have ever expected to find out. Briar is now a member of every pack in the Kingdom, which means, she will never be permitted to hold the Alpha status in any of the packs, maybe a Luna, but never any higher. She also wants nothing to do with Blood Water Pack. She wants to finish here and leave. Not to mention that she is now in the Queen's Court, so she will not be permitted to take up residence here. The King and Queen are worried about her safety within the pack and will not permit her to stay here. I overhear her telling the companions earlier that she thought the Pack

Enough for them to set up the traps that will collapse the bridge.” I looked at Lauryn. Her gaze was knowing and seemed to confirm what I was thinking. Mary still had a few years before she was old enough to feel the mate bond, but it was clear that either she had her heart set on Bryan or the brand was influencing her attraction to Bryan.
