“I assumed watchers are supposed to be in good spirits,” I said.
She shook her head, taking my hand. “Watchers are neither good nor bad. They conform to the energy of the environment. And the watchers around here are submitted to rebellion.”
Before I could say anything, Ria dragged me towards the stone wall before us.
She placed her hands on the wall, and her hands glowed briefly, before white, brilliant light from nowhere overwhelmed my sight in a second.
I shrank my eyes shut on instinct, a hand going to my eyes because of the pain.
