BOUND TO THE WRONG SISTER
She couldn't be.
My vision began to blur, the edges of the room turning completely black, but I kept my eyes locked entirely on Dad. I reached a trembling, blood-stained hand out toward him, begging with my eyes for him to jump across the table, to hold me, to tell me it was all a mistake and save his little girl.
But Dad didn't move. He just stood there, paralyzed by the horrific truth, looking at me like I was a monster he no longer recognized.
The pain in my chest flared one last time, tearing the breath from my lungs. My hand dropped heavily onto the blood-splattered table, my strength completely vanishing as my eyes rolled back, and the entire world went black.
