Bianca's POV Clutching Marvin's little hand to mine, I dragged the luggage I had with me as well. We got into the castle, and the guards standing in front of the gate bowed at me. “Oh my goodness, Mom. This is such a massive house. Are you trying to tell me that the man you called my father lives here all alone?” Marvin gasped in surprise. “There are many servants, slaves, and guards in the Castle. You have to trust me Marvin I can get rid of any other person who tries to invade in our privacy when we become one, big happy family” I smiled at him dryly.

A world that had no idea what lurked in the shadows of the castle on the hill. The castle appeared through the trees, dark and towering, its spires scraping the grey sky. Ysabella's stomach tightened. She had never thought of Emberclaw as intimidating before. It was home. It was where her mate lived, where her daughter slept, where she had built a life from the ashes of betrayal.

A butler… or rather, a head butler. I stepped out cautiously, scanning my surroundings. The castle was too quiet. But not a dead silence—more like a calm filled with hidden strength. “Why does your house look like this?” I asked quietly as we walked side by side toward the main entrance. “Because it’s been standing here long before you were born,” he answered casually. “This is where our pack lives, gathers, and survives.” I turned to him quickly. “Pack? You mean… you live here with your men?”

My brothers would have wanted me to, after all. We round a corner, and I catch another glimpse of the Oceana castle, the place that has been my home for so many months. It was the adventure of a lifetime: fighting with royalty, defeating the enemy, living with my friends in the luxury of the castle. I’ll never regret that part of my life.

Meanwhile, I felt dangerously close to losing my mind. Sonn we stopped, and the men led us toward a massive castle. An actual castle with Towers. Gates. Guards. The entire thing looked like it had been ripped straight out of fantasy fiction. Sasha squealed in excitement. “This is insane!”

“Then what happened?” “I asked you what we could do, but the scene was so blurry and changing before you could answer. We were in a castle, and I think we were on the roof. There was a valley with a bridge over it in front of us. It was a weird scene because behind us there was a cliff, so I think we had built the castle into it to help protect the back. I told you that they were coming for us, but you were so calm when you said they always were. It’s like you knew what to expect and were just waiting for it. Oddly, I knew as well because I told you we had faced it before, and we’d do it again.”

I glanced at the guards before turning my attention to Gayle, who nodded at them. The guards opened the door, and a gust of cold wind hit me as soon as it swung open. Gayle tugged me outside, and I felt the soft ground beneath my sandals, tempting me to take them off and feel the soil beneath my bare feet. But the sight of the sky-high castle quickly erased that thought. Nicholas had been living here all this time? In a castle? Well, what did I expect? A small house?

Dorian noted, catching Esme’s wide eyes. Esme tried to pick her jaw up from the floor. “Yeah it is. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like it before,” she answered honestly. “Does everyone live here? How do you get used to it?” Dorian chuckled, leading her up the staircase. “No, the castle is big but it isn’t that big to contain all of us. We’re a rowdy bunch. We’d all be at each other's throats if we were all cooped up together in the same space.”
