"Do you think I can only be defeated by an omega? If you don't know, I am the best girl. And our members are sure that I will win over you." "That's good. It's like having someone to cry with when I beat you." "How dare you fight me? I'll make sure you have trouble walking. I don't care if Alpha Giovanni gets mad at me." "...." The rest of the drive wasn't that long, I connected to my alpha asking him how things are going, we were almost there. What kind of women-deprecating shit goes on in this pack? I sigh and shake my head. Then, the first warrior steps forward. He’s a brunette, broad-shouldered, thick-necked, and built like a freight train. He eyes my bloody claws. His gaze lingers on my canines before moving to my eyes. But the bastard’s smile is cocky, the kind that says he’s already decided I’ll last five seconds… ten if he’s feeling generous. I curl up at the center of it, Jaxson and Luke’s wolves tackling Xander, biting at him, snarling. I pull myself into a tight ball, warriors fighting Xander’s henchmen, the fight dwindling as Jaxson obviously has the upper hand on numbers. He rushes over to me when we lock eyes. His snout nudges me to move, and I do, crawling out of the fight, watching him return back to bite at Xander more, Luke already trying to do that same.

But the lone warrior did not respond and continued his walk. "Don't ignore me you brat! " The warrior kicked the lone one. The lone warrior fell down to the ground as the confident warrior kicked his back. "You think ignoring me made you cooler? Your just a low rank warrior, I mean the weakest warrior in history! "She's not useless!" "She's supposed to clear this goddamn mist!" I fired back and got hold of my sword, Aiden will fight with his claws. I yelled as I could feel their steps and scent getting nearer and nearer while I smirked in anticipation to destroy the silly creatures that won't let me have a single piece in Seven in one pack.

I can tell from the faint shadows under his eyes and the way he keeps unfolding and refolding the same scrap of map in his hands. Exact quarters. Fear made orderly. I try not to watch him do it. My wolf has been restless since Dorran's scent judgment. Every time Caelen shifts his weight, she notices. Every time he breathes, she lifts her head under my ribs. Mate. The word has become less surprising. More dangerous. Tomas makes a sound of disgust. "What?" Cedric asks. Tomas leans closer to the ledger. "There is more writing under the binding." Caelen goes still.

But even as I tried to focus on the day ahead, I caught myself glancing toward the greenhouse as I passed it, and wondering if she was inside. A few days later, Holt scheduled a sparring match between Tanya and one of the mid-level warriors. She was holding her own … barely, but it was clear the other wolf was getting frustrated trying to keep up with her slower pace. When Tanya tripped over a misstep minutes later and fell hard on her side, Holt moved in to end the match. But Tanya shoved herself up, panting. “No. I can keep going.” Her opponent hesitated, glancing at Holt, who nodded that they could keep going.
