I turned to Jane, who started apologizing.
“I just couldn't keep them away; I'm a mother too; please understand me,” she defencelessly raised her arms, and I nodded as I understood her.
“It's a good idea; they've missed her,” I said, my eyes on Sierra and my kids as she was now introducing Thomas as their uncle.
“We have the same dad but not the same mother,” she said. I liked how transparent Sierra was with our kids, and I loved how she raised them.
"Okay, so it means you are half-siblings,” Nathan said, and Thomas, who seemed impressed, smiled while Sierra nodded. Well, those kids impressed me too; they were just too smart for their age.
