She waves a dismissive hand. “You romanticize him.”
“No,” I snap. “You diminish him. And that is your greatest flaw.”
She lifts a brow, unimpressed. “My greatest flaw?”
“Yes.” My voice is sharp, laced with something dangerous. “You stand there, acting as if you know what’s best for Valentine, but you don’t. You never have.”
Her silence is deafening.
I press on. “Achilles wasn’t just some reckless fool. He was his brother. He was—” I take a breath, my throat tightening. “He was my brother, too.”
