No way.” “Humor me,” he said, already reaching into his pocket for something. When I saw the folded strip of fabric, I laughed. “You brought a blindfold?” “It’s tradition,” he said simply. “Now trust me.” I sighed but relented, letting him tie it gently over my eyes. My reasoning is because I was focusing on finishing off high school, had to deal with graduation and family matters, and most of all I was unmotivated and I have been. Yes, I know it sounds like an excuse but I'd rather write Blinded when I'm motivated rather than write crappy chapters that I don't enjoy writing. So for the month of June, I'm going to take a break from writing, find some sort of motivation, and overall figure out what direction I want Blinded to go. Then Reign broke the stillness in the most infuriating way possible. “Blindfold her.” I stared at him. “What?” Before I could demand an explanation, someone behind me tied a soft cloth over my eyes. Darkness swallowed everything instantly. My pulse jumped. “What is this supposed to mean?” “Are you sure about this, Reirei?” Crie asked, and for the first time even his theatrical tone had thinned with uncertainty. “Yes,” Reign replied, his voice calm and final. “I want assurance that this lass does not attempt anything before we arrive.”

I have trust in him. After almost five minutes of walking, Tobias told me to stop. I could already feel my heart pounding so fast thinking about what I would see after this blindfold will be taken away from my eyes. Tobias was already at my back and I kept biting my bottom lips when he slowly removed the cloth from my eyes. “Happy birthday!”

She wiped away her tears, feeling a renewed sense of purpose swell within her. “I won’t let your sacrifice be for nothing,” she vowed aloud, her voice steady and resolute. “I will fight back. I will protect myself, and I will uncover the truth. Agatha won’t take me without a fight.” With a newfound determination, Aqua rose from her spot on the floor, the remnants of her parents’ love fueling her spirit. She would not hide.
