I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to visualize what he was describing. A door. Heavy wood, maybe. With a solid lock.
"That's it," Ace encouraged. "Now close the door. Push it shut."
I imagined myself pushing against the door, throwing my weight against it. The voices became muffled, then quieter.
"Good girl. Now turn the lock."
The mental click was almost audible. Suddenly, blissful silence filled my head.
I opened my eyes, gasping like I'd been underwater. "Oh my God."
