“Wait—” The door clicked shut. Locked.

There are only doors here, lots and lots of doors floating around like hooded ghosts. Van approaches the nearest one. The door must be more than eight feet tall for it towers above Van’s head. No. He stood looking at the word. One letter short of nothing. She had not explained, had not offered a counter, had not asked what it was about or when she might be free. She had simply closed the door and returned to whatever was on the other side of it, and the door had not shuddered on its hinges as she closed it. It had clicked shut quietly, the way well-made doors do.

After a moment's hesitation, Caspian said, "I have another question." "Hmm?" "If I use this Door to Hell, will it affect the seal?" Caspian was most worried about this. Handsome's father answered straightforwardly, "It won't. The Door to Hell is the Door to Hell, and the seal is the seal. They have nothing to do with each other.
