When In Rome Novels & Stories

DORIS The Italian sun kissed my skin as I opened the large French doors and stepped out onto the patio. I could hardly believe it. I was in Rome! We were in Rome! "Rome!" I said. I lifted my arms high and wide and turned in a slow circle. We were in Rome, the ancient city of legend. "What amazing adventures await?" I asked the fresh air. "Historic ruins, amazing churches, and restaurants, museums I've read about?" Arthur joined me on the patio. He hugged me from behind and kissed the back of my ear. "And passionate nights you've only dreamed of?" He asked quietly.

The Rome light doing its particular October work, golden and unhurried and not asking anything of me except to be present in it.

Romeo puts on his helmet to hide the heat he felt on his face, and sits down, without touching Julius. - Don't be afraid, I don't bite without being provoked. – Julius says. – Have you ever ridden a motorbike? - No. - Then lean against my back and hold on to me. The path will not be smooth, and I don't want to lose you along the way. Hesitantly, Romeo moves forward until Julius's warm body is next to his, and places his hands on his shoulders. Crossing his arms, he holds Romeo's hands and forces him to hold him around the waist, then starts the motorbike and takes off towards the waterfalls.

Trista’s POV Our first stop in Italy was Rome. Hazel and I had argued a bit about this. She was eager to see Milan. But I wanted to see Rome. And I wanted the kids to see the Sistine Chapel. Hazel didn’t understand. “How many times have you been to Rome?” she asked. “I mean, come on, Trista, you used to live here.” “No, I lived in Milan,” I told her. “I actually never went to Rome.”
