When She Said No Novels & Stories

She concluded and stretched the two papers at me. I looked at them and then I looked back at her face. “No.” I said. She frowned. “What?” She muttered in her confusion now before her frown intensified. “You didn’t just say no to me.” She said now with a stern tone. “I did.” I responded colorlessly. “You all can go hunting for her but count me out. I'm done with all that restlessness.” I said back and motioned to leave but then she halted me with her response.

I bent down to her height and asked. She nodded her head . " Nope, I didn't see anything". She spoke with her tiny voice and rushed away to play..

I explained. "But," she was about to say something. I cut her off in the middle by showing my hand and saying, “I don’t want to hear any nonsense; just say yes or no.” She thought for a second and nodded her head. “Are you mute? No, right, open your mouth and answer me,” I demanded. “Yes, I am okay with all your conditions,” she answered.

I said, with gritted teeth. “No,” She said flatly. “I will… Wait, what? No?” “No.” She said, even more strongly. What the heck was happening?

However, there was something about the way she said it that convinced me that her answer would be a no. That's the problem. I don't think I can take a no for an answer from her.

“You know, you can just tell them, ‘No, thank you,’ right? I mean, they’re just trying to help you.” She didn’t turn her head to look at me, so at first I thought she didn’t realize I was talking to her. But then, in a sharp, slightly loud voice, she said, “No.” I wasn’t clear as to whether or not she was saying no she didn’t understand that they were there to help her or no she didn’t care that they were trying to help her; she didn’t want to be helped.

Then, he teased, "Are you sure?" She turned her head to the other side and refused to look at his seductive gaze. She said stubbornly, "Yes. I'm sure." He smiled and asked again, "Honey, I'll give you one more chance. Otherwise, you won't get another one again." She shook her head. It didn't matter if he thought she was being fussy or shy. When she said no, she meant it.

I said calmly. She didn’t look like she was convinced with anything I was saying or she was even listening at all. “No,” she said walking closer to me as I became confused. “No…” I muttered. Why would she say no? Can’t she see I am really busy now and I have to be in a meeting? Can’t her discussion wait till I’m back?

“Are you okay?” “No, I’m not!” she snapped, her voice loud and sharp. “What’s the problem?” “You didn’t answer my question,” she grumbled, frustration evident in her tone. I was confused, even though I remembered saying no to her question. What more did she want? “You said no, but that’s not the answer I need.” “What do you want me to say?” I asked. “Do you like her?” “No!” I turned to her, “Of course not.”

she said. I hummed a bit as I sat on the stool. "I will get you a new phone. And about college....." "No," she blurted. I furrowed my brows slightly. "What do you mean, no?" "I know what you are going to say, and I am putting my foot down. It will not happen," she said with all seriousness. I stared at her, amused by the way she was acting. "Tell me what you think I was going to say," I said.
