"I need more supplies from the storage room," she finally said. "Stay with him. If he wakes up, try to get him to drink this water." She pointed to a cup on the table. "I'll be back soon."

Kimberly’s breath hitched but before she could reply, Timothy called out, "Martha, we’re leaving." As they turned away, Martha shot one last look over her shoulder ,smug, triumphant before disappearing through the doors. Kimberly exhaled shakily, her tears finally falling.
