I’d started writing in the library most mornings.
Not because I’d made a decision about it, more because the library was the room in this house that felt most like mine, the reading chair by the window, there's a way the light came in before noon, the smell of old paper that nobody had thought to replace with anything more modern. I’d drag the small side table closer, set my tea on it, open the notebook, and somewhere between the first and second cup something would start moving on the page that hadn’t been moving before.
