Tapping Jeff lightly on the shoulder she left him and walked to the passenger side of the car. "Hey, Evan," Silver said with a toss of her head, her eyes drifted back to my face, grey eyes bordered with dark lashes. "You're new?" I nodded. Should I say more? She cocked a smile revealing sparkling white teeth. Her canine peeked beneath her top lip. "Welcome to WhiSare." Without saying anything else she keyed the bike, pumped it and rode off. That was weird. Cara chuckled and I glanced at her. "Silver is a wild one. Many students swear up and down that she's had sex with them." She scoffed and rolled her eyes. "I hear she's quite good at sex too."

He raised his hand — a single, unhurried gesture to the enforcers behind him — and Xander had exactly one second to process what was coming before he saw them. Not standard-issue. Not the tranq rifles the Council used for pack disputes. Long-barreled, matte grey, with the distinctive pressurized canisters fitted along the stock. The mist dispersal system. I whispered, my voice cracked and raw. Behind him, the rest of the Silver Moon Pack emerged from the mist. They looked battered, their coats matted with the "Grey Static" of the Corporate Floor, but they were breathing. They were solid. They were **Home**. "Elara?" I turned to see Silas. He was leaning against a jagged rock, his black t-shirt torn, his skin covered in the soot of the "Distribution Hub." He didn't have his obsidian blades out. He just looked at his hands, watching the violet sparks fade into the natural tan of his skin.

Silver took a sip of his whiskey and sighed, “The whiskey Audrey’s collected is really good. Hey, when I leave, give me a few bottles of good whiskey to bring back and drink during the New Year’s.” Sugar heard Silver talking to Audrey, begging for alcohol, and could not resist saying, “Don’t you have tons of alcohol, Master? You have all sorts of good alcohol. You have to peel yourself away even if you see some good alcohol. If my seniors find out about this, they’ll give you an earful, scolding you with things you’ve never heard before.” Silver immediately hung up on Sugar.

The woman held out her hand, and in her palm was a small piece of glass. Inside the glass, Siron saw Kit’s face, but his eyes were shimmering silver, and his lips were moving, speaking unheard words. "Kit?" Siron murmured. Elara nodded. "The Whisperer has already touched him. And now, he will use Kit to get to you." Siron spun around, searching for Kit. He saw Kit talking to Liora, looking perfectly normal. But when Kit turned toward him, for a fleeting second, Kit’s eyes flashed silver.

The faint scent of silver drifted from them, a trick he used to test a wolf's endurance against pain. Carla's confidence flickered. She swallowed hard but tried to mask it with a smirk. We're still sharing revenue, strength, school, health services, and many more.
