Novel & Cerita White Lily Cookie Lore

(Lily POV) I am currently in the pack kitchen making cookies. Or, rather, trying to make cookies. It seems that I have run into a bit of a problem thanks to my “helper.” I should have known that accepting his help was going to be a bad idea. “Seriously, Brady?” I say, with my jaw practically on the floor. “Come on, Lily. That has to be a pretty common mistake. There is no way that I am the first one to ever mix those two things up.”

“What if I was actually pregnant but wanted to hide it?” Without missing a beat, Luna says, “That’s easy. Just take half the pill.” I nod. “Got it.” Reaching for one of Eli’s cookies, I’m halfway to my mouth before— Smack. The cookie flies from my hand and lands on the floor. “What the? Luna!” She picks it up and drops it into a small bowl of yellow liquid. Immediately, the cookie turns pitch black. My eyes widen. “I told you not to eat anything,” she says sharply. “Where did you get this?”

I said, and Mrs Kowalski cleared her throat from the doorway where she was pretending to read a magazine. We cut the cookies into shapes, and Lily wanted stars and hearts and dinosaurs, and Rook wanted hockey sticks, and I told him that we did not have a hockey stick cutter, and he said that we should buy one. Lily cut a cookie that was supposed to be a star but looked like a blob, and she said that it was Daddy, and Rook said that it looked exactly like him before coffee.

It's scent is sweet and calming, I mostly grow these types, along with Madonna lily, my two favorites. I grow each of the Lilium plant, but those two are my absolute favorite. After mixing the honey with the refined flower petal, I sprinkle a pinch of salt into the bowl and stirred for a good twenty seconds before putting the bowl in front of Collin. He stared at the bowl, then at me, the evidence of me not having his trust was clear as day and if I cared one bit would be a definite understatement. "It's either you drink it or you live without a voice" I shrugged.

After ten minutes, the honey turned caramel in colour so I turned off the flame and added a few drops of cold water to stop it from cooking further. I set aside the burnt honey to cool down and took another saucepan to heat butter, sugar, burnt honey and regular honey altogether. After five minutes, I added baking soda and started whisking it until the colour changed while giving tiny bubbles. After it cooled down a little, I added salt and vanilla and gave it a stir. In another small bowl, I whisked the eggs and poured it into the butter honey mixture. After sifting in flour, I started folding like Lily told me to do. When it became cookie-like dough, I covered it and kept it in the fridge.

"But the Trial of Fire is for the uncertain. My children are not a question. They are the answer." ​I reached into the small pouch at my waist and pulled out a handful of crushed white petals—Lunar Lily, a rare flower that only grows where the True Bride walks. I tossed them into the air. Instead of falling, they ignited in mid-air, burning with a brilliant, cool silver light that didn't smoke.

Lily said casually, lowering her head to play with the tea pet on Dominic's tea tray out of boredom. “Hm?” Dominic could tell that there was a hidden meaning behind her words. Narrowing his eyes, he probed, “What do you mean?” Lily tilted her head and threw him a sideways glance. “You insisted that I join the institute and said that there was some special meaning to the things they do, and maybe they could bring about a new era in the health industry. In one of the experiments at the institute, they used the wilfordi root.”

Klara sighed walking towards the lilies. The flower bed has all kinds of lilies including her favourite Madonna lilies. Her pseudonym 'White flower' was derived from these, in memory of Julia and her past. Looking at them made her feel refreshed and she kind of missed painting so much. It's been almost a month since she made new painting and didn't know what happened to the one she painted before getting kidnapped.

When she arrives twenty minutes later, she bursts in like a whirlwind, arms loaded with brown bags, her blonde ponytail bouncing. “Lisa Emerson,” she declares dramatically. “Prepare yourself. I’ve brought magic.” I arch a brow as I haul myself to my feet with the grace of a walrus. “If you mean cookies, you’re my favorite person alive.” “Labor cookies,” she corrects, holding up a container like it’s an ancient artifact. “My cousin swore by these. Went into labor three hours after eating two.” I eye them warily. “They look like regular cookies.” “They’re special.”

I blurted out. “White Lotus pearl weed? What is that?” Lily's voice cracked up, and everyone in the crowd began whispering. “White Lotus Pearl weed? Isn't it the rarest herb that grows only once in a century? It is said that it can revive the dead.” As soon as these words escaped through one of the elders’ lips, all the Omegas and their mates rushed to get a glimpse of it. Their eyes flashed with jealousy and greed. Among them, Lily was the one who looked the unhappiest.
