Who Is Responsible For Responding To An Activated Door Alarm の小説・ストーリー

The nameplate read Zev Alric. I stood there for a moment, hand hovering over the handle. I didn't hesitate. It was a calculation. Every room like this had a silent alarm connected to the security network. Opening the door would alert someone unless the system had been bypassed earlier. I had done that already. A single pulse jammer built into the heel of my boot disabled most of their wireless connections for at least five minutes. That was enough. I pushed the door open and stepped inside.

“Can the alarm system be deactivated?” “Yes. Madam or Sir can deactivate it. But if they do, I get an alert. Nothing came up in the last few days. They had updated it after the marriage, to register Mr. Devance’s fingerprints. I remember it had to be done two times because something went wrong the first time.” “Are there any other cameras?” “There are two cameras. One at the gate, one at the kitchen door.” “You have known Ms. Anjali for 15 years. Did it ever occur to you that she could take her own life?”

’ ‘How did they get to the front door? ‘There will be someone on duty, sitting in front of a wall of TV screens. He was alarmed by activity in Greg’s apartment. He had to get the police out, because the company is saving on staff overtime. The police looked, were satisfied, won’t look again, not even if Greg phones in. They would tell him to look himself.’ ‘Does that mean someone is watching us in the flat?’ ‘Don’t be daft. The CCTV defaults into privacy mode a short time after the door lock has been legally activated.’

Joe was about to open the iron door when Jordan spoke up. "Hold on." Joe froze, his hand still on the door. Jordan stepped forward and explained, "The residents of the place may be gone, but their security is still top-notch. If this door gets forced open, it'll trigger the alarm system and the traps inside. Things will get very tricky." He faced the scanner and input the password. Although he had deflected, his data was still in the system. This door could not stop him.

"Yeah, it's in the main room near the entrance, mounted on the wall." "Can you walk?" "I can walk, but I doubt I can run." I look around, and behind the cabinet is a door, "If I can get that door open, we can lock you in that room. As soon as the door is locked, call the police. But if I can trigger that alarm, we'd get a faster response from the cops, and it should get these guys off our backs." Dale nods. Another shot ricochets off the wall behind us. Can you keep them distracted while I open that door?"

The main house has come alive on Saint's screen. The two inside security have moved to the front door. The gate guards are running toward the main house. Holroyd and his six guests are getting up from the table. I can see them on the dining room cam. They’re not panicked in the least. They barely even look surprised. You’d swear this was just them running a drill. Holroyd moves to a panel on the wall, typing in a code. It’s a back-up alarm. The kind that triggers a private response from people we didn’t account for.

I opened the door and a man, wearing a police uniform was standing in front of my door. “Yes? How may I help you, officer?” He fixed his police cap. “I was the one assigned to the security of the community, ma'am. I was told by the security team to check the alarm devices in your house because there seems to be a problem.” My forehead creased, “Huh? What problem?” He pressed the doorbell and it didn’t work. “Even the doorbell isn't working, ma’am.” He presented me with his ID and after I confirmed his identity, I opened the door wide and let him in to check the security system.

She didn’t have their enhanced sense of smell and the reek of gardenias almost made her eyes water. “Can we search your house?” “No one is here but me. Do you think I screamed? I didn’t. Nothing is wrong except someone’s alarm is going off. Maybe the wind set off a car alarm. It happens.” 105 Laurann Dohner They seemed unsure what to do but they backed up, probably not enjoying what they were smelling. “All right. We are glad you are safe. Lock your doors. If you hear or see anything, hit the alarm.” He pointed to the wall.

The interior alarm means one thing: breach. Not over the wall, through a door. Someone opened something from the inside. I am moving before the alarm finishes its first cycle, already running the probability in my head, which door, which access point, who is on duty, where the vulnerability is. Faye is beside me, not behind me, keeping pace with the kind of instinct that doesn't ask for permission. Under other circumstances I would deal with this. Right now I need everyone moving.

"That's good. I'll just check it over. Make sure everything looks okay." The maintenance log is completed and signed, the batteries are new and a quick test run has the bell ringing loudly enough to wake every household within five hundred yards. "And you have the telephone number for the police station if you see anything suspicious outside? Tell you what..." I jot it onto the labelling on the alarm system. "I've written it here for you, then you can't lose it." "Oh, thank you. And there's the neighbourhood watch too. We all look out for each other."
