I had not locked it when Riley left, so she could easily step in to pick up her stuff without knocking.
The knock sounded again, and I started towards the door.
"You should pick up your things before leaving the room, Riley. And the door isn't locked; I wonder if you are trying to stress me on purpose because I rejected your offer." I grumbled, gripping the doorknob and twisting it.
When it opened, I frowned. No one was outside. Glancing to the right and left, and to my front once again to ensure Riley wasn't hiding anywhere, even though there was no way around the hall she could hide, I didn't see her.
