"There is no reason not to," I said. "You are strong enough, and there are still a few days before the Ceremony. You will recover by then."
I held out my hand, and she reached out and rested her hand in mine. I pulled her close.
"After the Ceremony," she whispered, "will you still feed from me?"
"No," I said, shaking my head. "You will be a vampire."
Vampires did not feed from each other. It was something of a taboo. It was also pointless. We gained no strength from another vampire's blood.
