She fights against my hold, desperate to escape before the tears fall. Her body shakes in my grasp, and she breaks down in tears. Her sobs rack her body. "Hermione," I whisper, pulling her into a protective embrace. Her head falls against my shoulder, and she cries profusely. Her tears wet my suit, but I don't care. I run my hand down her back, soothing her. "It's okay," I murmur, clutching the back of her head with a fierce tenderness that makes my heart burn.
