The clang echoed down the hall, final and cold. William was waiting at the far end of the corridor, arms folded. I frowned because I hadn't seen it among the stack of books the librarian had given me, so I looked for William, and he was comfortably reading some sort of picture book. Surely, he had placed the book among my things, so I sighed. I wrote everything down and began to summarize the information I read. It wasn't accurate, and it wasn't somewhat accurate either, so I was getting more and more confused. I think that's what made William get up from where he was to open the black book and show me something.
