The boutique was tucked between a coffee shop and a record store, soft lighting, pastel walls, racks of the kind of clothes I used to stare at online but never dared buy. Seraphiel’s hand stayed on the small of my back the whole time, guiding me like he was afraid I’d vanish if he let go.
