He never knew what to say in response to these weekly updates about his brother's life in Leeuwkop Prison. "He's coming home soon," she continued, almost sending Elijah into cardiac arrest.

I asked him as he got to his feet. "There's been another attack. On my uncle's pack" He answered rubbing his hand on his face. "Oh my," I said placing my hand over my mouth. "I have to go tame care of somethings. Goodnight Celeste." Elijah said, bending a little to place a kiss on my cheek. "Goodnight" I whispered back. I change into a fresh pair of pajamas and lay on my bed, smiling as I remember the passionate kiss the king and I shared. ****

He smiles all of a sudden, sending chills down my spine. “ It was my brother Elijah’s weird creature Army. ” His smile widens and I gulp, my eyes going wide at the unexpected revelation. “ What… I mean how… Was he reborn just like us? ” I stutter, my mind reeling with the shock that this news gave me. “ He never died. ” Cain shrugs his shoulders, a dimple showing on his cheek the wider he smiles. He is creeping me out now. “ What is it, Cain… ” I ask out at last, my nerves jumpy.

"Oh God, " I whisper, shutting my eyes and I feel Elijah's hold on me tighten–perhaps too tight, but I make no move to say anything. "Of course you know I would choose the former. I got involved with them and they left my brother. Never heard from my brother after I graduated from high school, he just disappeared out of my life after he ruined it. I continued to work for these people until I wanted out. The time they demanded was over, but they refused to keep to their end of the fucking bargain! And when I left against their will, they started following me! The fuckers!"

Now Noah had an hour to kill before his next client came in. Abel and Gio were already in the office when he walked in. Abel was reading the paper. Gio stood next to him, toothbrush still in his mouth. The guy was always brushing his teeth. They both glanced up. "Everything okay?" Abel asked. Noah pinched his brows in an attempt to appear oblivious to his meaning. "Yeah, why wouldn't it be?" Abel shrugged. "I hope my dumb ass brother didn't cause you any problems." Noah pretended to think about it as if he didn't even remember then furthered the act by opening his eyes wide. "Oh, last night? No, not at all."

I’ll stay here.” Kaela’s attention turned sharply to the stranger who had been in the room this entire time, her eyes narrowing as she assessed the threat he posed. I realized I hadn't even bridged the gap between them. "Elijah is Jace’s older brother," I said, my voice finally finding its strength. Kaela froze, her hand dropping from my shoulder as she looked at Elijah with a new, startled intensity. "Jace has a brother?"

I gotta go, little wolf,” his voice cuts out, leaving me to reel in worry as my mind fathoms all of the possibilities as to what could be going on.
