The Ice Wolf
Its tiny woven water droplets glistened in iridescent colours from an unknown light source.
“What is that?” Nueva walked closer and ran her fingers over the cold surface, separating the wet layers and releasing a damp scent of algae and soil into the air.
“I have seen this before,” Nueva whispered.
“Something brought us here; I think maybe our purpose lies behind.” Eira’s voice was low and secretive, telling some without revealing all.
A low terrifying growl vibrated from within the misty layers. Nueva instinctively backed away.
There was a faint rustling in the undergrowth behind her, and she spun around to face a giant silver-grey wolf.
