“Real ones?” “Yes. You see, years ago, wolgons were rare creatures that you don't easily see as they are an endangered species. People hunt them, steal their eggs and used them as weapons in their wars. Empires fighting against each other, and packs ended up being destroyed burnt…by wolgons fire because of power, the greediness of men.” He sounded pained. “But we saw one, quite easily.” I muttered. “It's a fake.” He paused, as if letting his words sink in.

"Some wolves just don't see things that don't align with what they want to see. He is blinded by pain and he wants to start war. He wants to blame the elders and hate them because that's just what he thinks will help him. Nothing will help him but the truth." She wipes her eyes, clinging to my midsection as she lays propped up over my lap. "Fritz was right in what he told me. he had proof. And now the world is doomed." I narrow a look down at her, perplexed. "What do you mean, doomed?" "The Wilshire facility, Ryan. The wolves you set loose." My heart skips a beat; then two. "They were all sick, weren't they?"

I said, rolling my eyes. Caspian looked at me, a small smirk forming on his lips as he did. But deep down, I knew that he was also nervous about it. This was the first war that we were truly entering. Wolves have stopped wars a long time ago. It was for a reason. The bloodier they were, the stronger they became, the more harsh we had to deal with. And sometimes that blood led to orphans, things that we did not want to have within the pack and pain that we did not need to endure. Pain that no one wants it to endure. It was the reason why order was restored within the wolf packs.

Nothing is going as I hoped. Valeria stands at my side, her hand slipping into mine as we look at the scene before us. “What is this place?” “This is war, my love. The wolves are at each other's throats and no one is safe.
