"Geeze you're excited. You don't even know where we're going!" "I know the woods start back there and that all that matters! Elias and I undress and shift. It takes him a few minutes longer to shift so my wolf watches him shifting and is dying to just start running. Elias' wolf is stunning. It's a light auburn brown wolf with bright honey colored eyes. His fur shines in the sun and our two wolves finally meet. His wolf is prancing around mine sniffing every inch and licking her face. My wolf gets a little annoyed but allows his wolf to calm down before dashing in the forest. My wolf is much faster and Elias' wolf is struggling to keep up. I ask her to let him catch up and to then start hunti

Dean’s POV continued- The cells are usually kept pretty dark. Since the wolves have better night vision it’s not a problem for them, but when we turn the bright spot lights on it sure makes it a lot worse for them too. We keep the observation area dark so the rogue can’t see everyone in the room. I decided not to tell Alec and Zander because, well, I still wanted to have a little fun. We got to the interrogation area and I held up a hand so they knew to hold back a bit, then I gave the signal for the lights. The flinching and barely audibly cursing coming from the wolves? Worth it. It took a second for them to recover and I tried my best to hide my smirk as Alec looked at me.

Karen and Lila were far enough out of the circle for the buck to think he had an avenue of escape. The buck heard something. His head came up and he scented the air. Wolves! The odor was thick around him, except to the north. He ran for his life towards safety. The wolves took off after him but his escape was cut off by two snarling wolves, one auburn, one blond. His only choice was to try to leap over them. Karen saw him gather himself to jump and she lunged at the same time, gripping his neck with her powerful jaws. The blood filled her mouth, and she reveled in it.

Vivi raised her voice starting to lose patience with me. “Vivi…. He’s here…” Tears welled in my eyes as she realized what I speaking of. “Caleb’s here!” I chanted at her not knowing how my heart was feeling but it was feeling something that brought me immense sadness. “Kya please?” She begged me to go with her. Two silvery-spotted wolves approached us from the bushes a few yards ahead. They looked bloodthirsty with saliva dripping from their canines and their eyes held a craze of no humanity. The two large brown officials leaped at them with intent to kill.

The sight before me was chaotic: Tatiana lay unconscious on the ground, while two large wolves were locked in a fierce standoff. Percival’s wolf and my brother’s wolf were in the middle of an intense confrontation. My brother’s wolf, exuding a cooler demeanor, clashed with Percival’s, each animal growling and snapping with determination. The argument was over who should care for Tatiana—Nixx, her partner, or Percival, the father of her pup. The tension in the air was palpable, the growls echoing the fierce rivalry between them.

“You could end it, you know. Pick a winner. Let them live.” I snort. If only it were that easy. “Find me one who can last past the third sunrise, and maybe I’ll consider it.” Her presence flickers in front of me, like a whisp of smoke. “You’ve gone soft. I can smell it on you.” “Must be your imagination. The only thing soft here is the ground after the corpses hit it.” She chuckles and fades, leaving the back of my skull blessedly empty. I straighten, scanning the new arrivals. A witch crying into her hands. Two wolves are already posturing for dominance. A human, brave or stupid, probably both, trying to look like she belongs. Typical.

I have seen better. His while group follows, launching at us. Amelia and Janny maintain their stance, fighting off the rogues with ease, while I stand still and watch the movie like action scene. Bigger wolves emerged from behind the trees tearing the rogues apart like hunks of meat. Austens pack. Amelia nudes Janny's side as a big, brown fur wolf advance towards us and they both hurry off to God knows where. Really. His green eyes are enough to let me know who it is. Austen.

The man shrieked in pain and tried to fight them off, but they just kept biting harder. Charlie, please get here, Lia prayed silently. No sooner had the words echoed in her head than a man came running up the sidewalk like his ass was on fire. "Holy shit," he swore as he saw the two wolves. "Help me," the man screamed. "Get these beasts off of me. I'm bleeding."

Lana's gasp of terror could be heard as she looked out the window, Maddie's cries still audible over the sound of my snarling and the rogues' growling as they closed in. "Maddie go in your bedroom, sweetheart," Lana called softy, and the shake in her voice gave me all the motivation I needed to lunge forward, taking down the biggest wolf with me. The wolves around us howled and yipped in excitement as our teeth and claws collided. They weren't prepared for the kind of fight I was willing to give to protect my family. I latched my teeth down, getting a hold of his throat as he kicked and bucked to get me to release my jaw.

Please. Just as I was muttering a silent prayer, the ground suddenly trembled beneath us. A low, guttural growl filled the air, followed by the thunderous sound of pounding footsteps. What's happening? The hooded figures around us froze, looking alarmed as their heads snapped toward the source of the sound. Through the smoke and chaos, I saw them—wolves. A whole pack of them, their massive forms barreling toward us like a tidal wave of fury. Leading them was a dark brown wolf, its golden eyes blazing with
