Writing With Empathy Novels & Stories

I don't understand why, but I can feel that I have empathy, even though I am not a person who cares about the suffering of others. Ignorant of people's suffering, if I want something and have to destroy it to get it, I don't hesitate. I didn't necessarily hesitate to do so, I could do anything for my cause, but for the first time, I felt empathy within myself. For the first time, I empathized with someone, and it was her.

It made me feel more welcome and a little less awkward. “Have you ever tried to amplify your gift?” I asked curiously. His head tilted to the side before slowly shaking his head. I could see that he was confused and curious about where I was going with this. “You have a great gift to weaponize. Empaths are able to sense and manipulate emotions. Imagine being on a battlefield. There would be an entire buffet of emotions for you to sample. If you have someone beside you that can cause pain, fear, paranoia, or anything like that, you can then pull that emotion towards you and divert it to your enemies. With practice you could slingshot them,” I explained the process.

I hope readers feel that too. I also want to say sorry if sometimes English is not perfect. I try my best, I really do. Sometimes I think, “Maybe readers will not understand,” but I hope you can feel emotion. Emotion is more important than grammar. Every word I write, I try to put my feeling, my heart, my imagination. Some sentences maybe not smooth, some words maybe wrong, but I hope you understand my love for story, my love for characters, my love for readers.

He was out of my league and could have any girl he wanted.

“In these plans… what is he when you are finished?” I take my time answering, not because I hesitate, but because it pleases me to hear the clock keep me. “A lesson,” I say at last. “To my kind, that love is not a leash I wear. To his kind, that empathy is a door they should have locked. To Dennise, that loyalty is not a feeling, it is a choice you are never done making. He will live. He will watch the world I draw.
