The peace lasted about thirty seconds. "What are you reading?" I nearly jumped out of my skin. My book snapped shut in my hands as I looked up. Owen stood there, hands shoved into his pockets, his boy-next-door smile tugging at his lips. He plopped down beside me without asking, his shoulder brushing too close. "Wuthering Heights," I said, flashing the cover like it was proof I was not in the mood for company. "Classic." His smile stretched wider. "Ever read it before?"

Dahlia and I settles for wuthering Heights. After going over the necessary procedures, we are in the dimly lit movie room with a host of other people. I’ve never been a much more cosy place.

He offered to let me borrow it.

I touched the books devotedly and looked at Alessandro in complete shock. “Do you know how hard it is to find all these books?” I questioned when I saw the first edition of Wuthering Heights and pointed to it. “That book sold in 2007 for $225000... That's too much.” “It cost me almost $300000,” Alessandro said matter-of-factly. “It was a bit of a hassle to move everything, but it's worth it. All the books are yours to do with what you want. They are your property; the invoices were issued in your name, and I paid the respective taxes they carry.”

No one has found the bodies yet, though, so theres still a lingering hope out there that they're alive. I sigh as I crawl under the thick quilt, flicking on the lamo beside me as I pull out my latest find at Barnes and Nobels: The Winter Garden by the famous Kristin Hannah. This woman's books are truly amazing. Then, after an hour long reading session, I find my eyes beginning to shut against my will, so I set down the book on the bedside table and shut off the lamp. ~ The next morning...

I am aware that he is like looking at my face for a long time and is keep on glancing at me. “Ahmmnn a book entitled Wuthering Heights by Emily Bonte, Nicholas Nickleby by Charles Dickens, and hemmnn Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.” I said as I look into the books there. “I see, those are rare books now since they are old and people nowadays don’t like sad and pure narration stories.” Henry said and I just nod. Henry is now helping me through the pile of books. It was almost 30 minutes yet we haven’t found one of the 3 books.

Instead, he took the book and flipped it open, his fingers brushing over the pages. “Wuthering Heights,” he mused. “Passionate. Obsessive. Toxic.” His eyes flickered back to hers. “Sounds familiar.” Vivian’s breath caught in her throat, but she refused to let him see her falter. “Read the passage,” she ordered. Ethan held her gaze for a moment longer before finally turning his attention to the text. But even as he read, his voice laced with something dangerously smooth, Vivian knew one thing for certain.

I put the twist at the very end because I doubt Conner will read the whole outline. The last, is my version of Wuthering Heights, by Emily Bronte. The original version is a lot like my life. I was separated from Tim, my only childhood friend, and I have been bullied and abused ever since. In my new version, The Descent, I won't have a childhood friend, but an enemy, in Conner. It will end with me slaying my inner demons and Conner, too. I am pleased with my creativity on them all because they allow me some revenge against him, which I hopefully won't be punished for. The question is, which one will Conner choose. “Conner, I finished the outlines.”

He didn't say anything to them so they went back to their research. He looked over at me, licking his lips again, then went back to his screens. I sat there, in awe, trying to think of a way to be helpful. I knew Ryan pretty well, but this part of Ryan is even worse than what I remember. He has completely become unhinged. He was already scary enough on a good day, I don't know what he could be capable of now. I sat there looking around the room. There were so many books in this room. "Go ahead darling, look around at the books, what is ours, is now yours." H
