| HAILEY | Xavier’s eyes shifted, ocean blue fading into molten gold. The air around us thickened, alive with wild energy. His wolf had taken control. “Turn around now!” a low, rumbling growl tore from Xavier’s chest. I didn't hesitate. Rolling onto my back, I sank into the mattress, the sheets cool against my overheated skin. My breath hitched as I hooked my hands behind my knees, drawing my legs up and apart, exposing my pussy completely to Xavier’s predatory gaze.

A short, amused sound, but a laugh nonetheless. "Books?" His eyes flick between us. "Armani, you? Since when do you love books?"

His attention went back to the screen and I turned mine to his book shelf to look for something to read. Vampires. Werewolfs. Romance. Teen Fiction. Mystery. Thriller. Historical. He's got a lot of books. Xavier's POV I looked at Royalty as she looked through my bookshelf for something to read. I knew girls rather shop than read and I found it quite interesting for a girl to be a bookworm. I was feeling something for her but I couldn't put my finger on it. I was slowly starting to enjoy being around her. I got up without making a sound.

I snapped at Xander irritated. He ignored me and his eyes glanced at the floor to catch the sight of the book the floor. "Bambi and the devil. That's interesting so you are into dark romance." Xander read out the book title as he pinned me against the shelves. "I am not into dark romance. Why are you here and not with your precious lover?" I hissed at him not liking how close we were. His eyes had a fleeting emotion I could not read that quickly disappeared.

It's just an effing book not a fucking time bomb, calm down Rica, she tried to assure herself but her heart kept pounding even more so because Xavier was now able to read her like an open book. She had feared that he would almost coax the truth out of her but thankfully he didn't. She shook away those thoughts. She needed to read this book and hopefully, hopefully, she will know more about her powers.

Believe me, I actually read that and even stalked you."

“Especially romance novels. There's something magical about getting lost in a story and experiencing all the emotions along with the characters.” Alpha Xander chuckles, his eyes sparkling with amusement. “I never would have pegged you for a romance novel enthusiast,” he admits, his tone teasing. “But I can see the appeal. There's a certain charm to stories about love and passion.” I nod in agreement, feeling a sense of camaraderie with him as we bond over our shared love of literature. “Exactly,” I say, my voice animated. “And besides reading, I also enjoy spending time outdoors, going for hikes, and exploring the beauty of nature.”
