Kara jumped back to a safe distance, realizing she had no idea how to use the blade. "I was going to help you!" "I sent you away to help you!" With a swift blow to the side, the Cleaner knocked Mary out again. He walked towards Kara. "You make my job so much easier," the Cleaner said, grinning through his bleeding gums. "Don't move any closer, or I'll--I'll--" The Cleaner knocked the blade out of Kara's hands as quickly as if she had never held it at all. She was going to die, she realized, as the Cleaner raised his scythe to tear through her body.

“This is... bigger than I expected.” She hesitated. “So, what now?” Thane pulled out his wallet and extracted a thick wad of cash. Without hesitation, he handed it to her. “Take this. You’ve done your part.” Her eyes widened slightly at the amount, but she quickly pocketed the money. “If you need anything else—” “I’ll find you,” he interrupted, his tone dismissive. The cleaner stood, unsure whether to feel relieved or nervous. “Just be careful. Something like that… it can blow up in ways you don’t expect.”

Not long after, the esteemed bosses were arriving one by one. “Firipin e okaerinasai,” greeted Rios as he and Kenji Takahashi bowed formally toward each other. The serious man, whose voice was soft but always made Rios nervous, had come all the way from Osaka, Japan. Takahashi was a former enforcer in the Yamaguchi-gumi syndicate, but had risen as the leader of his own splinter group. He didn’t talk much, but when it came to business, he was always eager to share how he grew his empire, which was through tech, crypto laundering, and, of course, his brutal efficiency. He was known as the kind of man who eliminated rivals before they even spoke. The Japanese man was accompanied by the Shimizu-

* “Please spare me! I am only doing what they have told me to do, I have nothing against you!” that is what a man said – a man that is cornered by Shin. He is a man that is one of the underlings of the Black Scorpio clan, a huge group that is similar to that of a yakuza. A yakuza is a foreign term order to define a group that does criminal actions, participates in fights with other clans, and does things that are considered to be against the law of a country or even against the rule of law.

I stammered, "I didn't see anything. I was just cleaning—" "Shut up." The command wasn't shouted, but it cut through my babbling like a knife. Dante Romano studied me with those cold eyes. Recognition flickered across his face just before he said, "You're the cleaner." I nodded frantically. "Yes. Just the cleaner. I clean the bathrooms and hallways, and empty the trash. That's all." The man on his knees saw his opportunity and lunged toward the door. He didn't make it three steps before another gunshot rang out. He collapsed face-first onto the plush carpet, which began soaking up his blood.

"Sanitation protocols engaged. Release the Cleaners." "Cleaners?" Hayley squeaked. "That sounds... helpful?" "It's not," Jack grabbed her arm. "Run!" At the far end of the factory floor, huge bay doors slid open. Steam poured out, followed by the sound of skittering metal. The "Cleaners" emerged. They were spider-like automatons, the size of compact cars, with four razor-sharp legs and a central chassis loaded with industrial cleaning equipment—if you considered flamethrowers and circular saws to be cleaning equipment.

"I want eyes on the inner part of the Synod facility, I'm not up for promotions and most certainly I don't work at the base with Henry, there is an opening for cleaners and I want you to apply, I'll do my end to try and get you in as well." I nodded positively. "Cleaning isn't so hard, is it?" His eyes narrowed as his expression was unexpected. "The cleaners clear up dead bodies of NX-5's who couldn't take any more experiments and passed away. They have designated cleaners for the job and that is what they are hiring." I couldn't believe my ears, Synod was worse than I thought it was, and it was all finally begining to make sense now. ***

“Feel that? Every inch claiming you.” Aiden’s cries echoed, hand stroking himself in time. Silas bit his ear. “Come for me, love.” Aiden shattered, spilling hot on wood. Silas followed, flooding him, growling possession. Panting, they dressed. Elena reentered, face composed. “Police en route. We need to move.” Back at the hotel, Silas paced. “Kane’s tied to Yakuza offshoots. That’s how he funds his ‘clean’ deals. But I have my own… resources.”

[The Yakuza] They walked into a small, smoky Izakaya (bar). It was quiet. A few old men were drinking sake. Behind the counter stood a man with no pinky finger on his left hand. He was cleaning a knife. Goro. An Old School Yakuza boss. One of the few who refused to work for the Syndicate. Sebastian walked up to the bar. He placed a specific coin on the counter. A Sterling Corp commemorative coin. Goro looked at the coin. Then at Sebastian. "You are supposed to be a ghost, Mr. Sterling."
