Chapter 2 To make the room even more intimidating, Jason sat at the table, clicking the keys of his laptop and speaking into the microphone of a headset he wore. He looked up, lifted a finger to indicate he’d be a moment, and finished his conversation. As he spoke, she drank in the sight of him, resisting the urge to squirm as she took a seat. Jason was fit and tanned, with handsome features that had a rougher edge than Josh’s still immature facial appearance.

He cleared his throat and tossed them onto a table nearby, flushing a deep shade of red in the process. “Er, nothing,” he said, smiling sheepishly and rubbing the back of his neck. “I was just… Um… You’re Sophia, right? Kieran’s Beta’s sister?” I nodded, then glanced at the pile of garments beside him. “Date night with Jessica?” Jason’s shoulders sagged at the mention of his girlfriend, which surprised me. I knew he still craved Charlotte, who was once his mate, but he had cheated on her with Jessica. That was what the rumor mill claimed, at least. Everyone assumed he would mark Jessica now that Charlotte was taken.

But then Jason smiled, reached across the table for her hand and her breath hitched. “You're right,” he said, staring into her eyes. “This has nothing to do with business. I want to know you in a way no one else does, Anna de la Vegas.” Anna pulled her lower lip between her teeth, hating the skip in her heart at his words. Jason's gaze bore into her, a flicker of softness in them. Or maybe something that looked like it. “Not the doctor. Not the sister. Not the ill-tempered chief bridesmaid,” he added, earning a small laugh from her.

The thing is, this wasn’t new. I’ve known Lila long enough to recognize the signs. She keeps her feelings close to the chest, but when something’s getting under her skin, it shows. Little things — the way she grips her books too tight, the way her eyes dart like she’s trying to map an escape route, the way she laughs half a second too late. She was unraveling. And Jason Reed was tugging at every loose thread. I didn’t trust him. Jason was reckless, cocky, magnetic in the way a fire is: dangerous to touch, impossible to look away from. The kind of boy who left people burned.

Jason can also be a softie, but when he is provoked, or someone he loves get hurt, he shows the big bad wolf he can also be. Jason doesn't define his sexuality, he likes who he likes and he believes in love. Though in his book, which is coming out really soon, we will go more into Jason past life, and how his future would go. When I was writing Con, I just wanted there to be a Book two, but I couldn't continue with Alex and Amanda, their story had to end here, I needed to continue with another character, a character everyone would love and can flow with and I thought why not Jason? Who doesn't love Jason?

Sitting on her bed, with crossed legs - a lady in her pajamas reading a book. More precisely, a romance book. In this age, who doesn't want to dream about those fantastical love stories? If it is about transporting oneself to another dimension, isn't it cool that way? Becoming a villain in a story, isn't it thrilling enough to be adapted into a movie? Jade was one of those people, and forever will be. She's an avid reader of love stories and had a large collection of that in her room.

He looked back at me and took my hand making sparks dance on my skin. “Are you coming love” his voice no longer dry but deep and sexy. Jason replied sarcastically. Now he can see that Tyler likes her so much. Jason knew his friend, he will not stop until he gets what he wants. He would desire a woman and will do anything to take her to his bed. After he is done he will throw the woman like a garbage. That is the last thing that Jaso would want to happen to his friend and if that will happen he does not know what he could possibly do to Tyler.

Back to the present, after staring over my reflection in the mirror one last time, I grabbed the food pack I'd prepared this morning–chicken casserole, his favorite. Today would be different. I was sure of it. The drive to Blackwood Empire took fifteen minutes. I hummed a reggae tune under my breath while tapping at the steering with excitement. When I got to his office on the ninth floor, his secretary looked up, startled. "Ms. Lila, I don't think he's—" I walked past her and pushed his office door open. Jason sat at his desk, a glass in his hand. Eyes red, hair messy, heavy bags under his eyes. What the heck?

Knowing we could argue about this for the rest of the night and he wouldn’t back off. I wasn't about to ruin our wedding night with a flimsy argument. Just the thought of that made my stomach clench with desire. Jason’s eyes darkened a little. Like he knew exactly what I was thinking. Well, maybe he does. He has been able to read my thoughts even when we weren’t mated. And now that we were, I’m guessing I’m an open book for him. Being completely vulnerable has never sounded good. Until I realized I’ll be vulnerable to him.
