You Want Her, So It's Goodbye Novels & Stories

"I've said everything I needed to say." "The rest..." I looked into her eyes. "...belongs to you." A tear slipped down her cheek. She stepped closer. She placed her hand gently over mine. Not as a promise. Not as a goodbye. Simply, as gratitude. Then she let go. Without another word she walked slowly through the garden. Past the roses. Past the lavender. Past the life we had once dreamed of together. I didn't stop her. I didn't call her name. I simply watched the woman I loved walk away.

It was because another man had left her. Just like that, I realized I had no regrets left. I pulled the divorce papers I'd prepared long ago from the nightstand and handed them to her. "Leighton, I'm letting you go." She shot upright from the bed. "Logan, will you only be satisfied after you've driven me to my death? Harley Brooks is leaving for Toronto soon. After this, we'll never have another chance to see each other. I'm only going to see him off as his professor. Is that wrong too?"

"Because I have a proposition for you." She let the pause hang there for a second, just long enough to matter. "How would you like to be me for one night?"

"You make me sick! If you want to leave me, just say it. There's no need to make such a mess of things." Alanna smiled faintly beside him. "Let me take care of trash like this. Don't let her ruin your deal."

It was way too fucking soon. I took a breath. I closed my eyes. Waited for my heart to stop fucking pounding. She was staring at me as I opened them. Her face to the driver’s window. It made me jump. She tapped on the window and I lowered it. “You said goodbye. Not bye, or see you, or catch you later. You said goodbye.” “Isn’t it?” She pulled a face. “Do you want it to be? Is that how you work? No baby, no more Max or Soren?”

She wanted to spend her last days with me, to have some peace and quiet. "I said yes, of course. Then I watched as the sickness took her away, bit by bit, until she was gone. "I'm the one who sent that message." Janet showed him the chat on the phone again. "Lily got so sick she couldn't even text back, but she was really looking forward to this wedding. "She couldn't see anymore, but I wanted to make her dream come true, so I told you to get ready." Edison's eyes were stuck on the dark letters of the report, and a cold feeling spread from his fingers to his heart.

People don't forget that kind of envy—they just wait for you to fall. Nico cut in, his voice cold and final. "That's in the past." No one argued. When the don closes a subject, you close it. His fiancée raised her glass to me. "Thank you for letting him go. Otherwise I never would have met him. You have to come to the wedding." I pulled my sleeve over the scar on my wrist and said, "Congratulations."

I hesitantly let go of her hand once the handshake was over , taking a cautious step back, still holding her gaze in mine. No one dared to look away as seconds ticked away with me still trying to decipher the unspoken challenge she withheld in her eyes. " Well...goodbye then," She dismissed , her voice quiet and mysterious. " I hope to see you tomorrow. Don't be late." " Alright," ******************************************

“And there’s nothing left to say.” “There is if you just listen,” I beg, but the ice in her eyes leaves no room for argument. “Goodbye, Justin.”

And I wrapped mine around her. She smells so nice, her body is so warm. Can I really stay away her? It was a short hug leaving me wanting more. "Well I guess this is goodbye princess" "Yeah I guess it is". And with that I leave
