You Want Her, So It's Goodbye Novels & Stories

Monica's brows furrowed slightly. It was as if something suddenly dawned on her. Her voice carried a hint of awkwardness as she said, "It's already past midnight. Just one more day, and I can finally divorce Gurney. Don't worry, Lincoln. I never forgot my promise to you. Tomorrow, we'll put on our rings and go get married." Her sweet words did not move me. I only replied calmly, "Alright. I'm tired. I'm going to rest."

I lie there frozen, her words still ringing in my ears. “Tomorrow night. For good.” My chest feels caved in, six months of missing her, hating her, trying to forget the exact shape of her hands on me and now she’s here, skin still flushed from coming on my tongue, telling me this is goodbye. I shove at her shoulders, hard, she lets me push her back until she’s sitting on her heels between my thighs, eyes locked on mine, unreadable.

he chuckled. “I apologize for yesterday. I found an enchanting way to talk to you and trust me Kenny, I mean every word I’m gonna say. I like you and I wanna be with. Please don’t tell me to shut up, you know you talk too much too” “I didn’t tell you to shut up” “Yeah I just assumed because I just said what I wanna say” he stepped closer to her. “Please just give me a chance. I’m not really good at goodbye”

She whispers, walking back, and I squeeze her hand, shaking my head. “I’m glad I met you too, Shayla Hart.” She pulls her hand back and whispers goodbye and walks away from me for the last time. I watch as she disappears out the front entrance and I sigh, closing my eyes, my heart slowly sinking to the pit of my stomach. “Goodbye”

I can't put her through any danger again. It’s time for me to leave. Letting go of her hand I kiss her on the forehead and whisper “This is goodbye love,” and walk out of the room glancing at her one last time. This is goodbye.

That's just how it is. Her eyes held gloating and hostility, dressed up as sympathy. She likely expected me to snap. Instead, I smiled at her with complete sincerity. "Don't worry. We broke up. There's nothing between us anymore. I hope you two last forever. I mean that." Something shifted after I said it. Lucas fell quiet. His gaze lingered on me a moment too long, something unreadable crossing his face. "Rebecca isn't feeling well. We're heading out. Go back in and keep the others company." He took her arm, and they left.

He betrayed you, and he failed me, too. [If one day he truly repents, would you be willing to give him another chance? [I ask not for an answer. I only wonder… [Would you still be willing to believe in love, one more time?] I stood frozen for a long time as I held the letter in my hands. Only when night fell did I whisper to the empty room: “I’m willing to give myself another chance, but not him.” This time, I finally understood— Letting go didn’t mean we would never meet again.

"If we're going to put on a show, we might as well go all the way. I'm a woman of my word. Just remember to make it up to me with a real proposal." I laughed and opened the box. A diamond ring lay nestled inside, gleaming quietly. "What—" "I've been in love with you for a long time. Too bad you only had eyes for that piece of trash. Flight's at 5:00 pm today. First, we'll register our marriage in Iliria. Then, we'll head to Gustonberg for surgery to repair your nerves. And finally, we'll honeymoon in Havena. Any objections?" A sudden thought crossed my mind. "Why do I get the feeling I've been playing right into your hands this whole time?"

She nodded, “well if that is what you want, then you should go thank him and say anything else you need to since we will be leaving here tomorrow.” I nodded as I pulled my shoes out of the closet, “maybe I need to make sure then I say a proper goodbye as well then, he, he,” tears started to flow out of my eyes. She hugged me, “is that what you really want? To say goodbye to him forever, Amelia.”

“Anything, G.” "I want... I want one kiss. A real one. And please, don't push me away. You don't even have to kiss me back. I just need to feel that you don't want me. I think it will help my brain finally understand that it’s over. Please." I stared at her, stunned. “Grace… that sounds like it would hurt more.” “I promise it’ll help. It’ll make it real. Just once, and then I can start letting go.”
