Erin chuckled, and Agustin simply grinned. “I wish.” They shared a laugh, and Erin wrapped his arms around Agustin’s shoulders, remarking, “You’ll have to grow up first before you can sit on the throne,” gesturing towards their grandfather and Uncle Vernon’s majestic seat. Agustin stared at the throne and asked, “Should I? Do I deserve the throne?” He looked at his Uncle Erin, smiling.

But the throne seemed more than determined to stay, fighting against whatever affected it. "This is not your time," Sethlzaar growled, and when he spoke again his voice was a roar. "YOU WILL UNHAND ME, AMNIFA!" His voice reverberated through the darkness, seeming to shake it at its foundation. "THIS IS NOT YOUR TIME!" The throne scattered, like a troubled cloud, gone as though it had never been. Then Sethlzaar felt a smile behind him and he rounded on it with equal annoyance, coming face to face with Frent's bleeding smile.

The car drove slowly toward the bustling, sinful heart of New Haven. It was an empire that belonged entirely to me. I raised my right hand, wearing the ring of power. Looking at my cold reflection in the window, I curved my lips. A man’s love is worthless. Only absolute power never betrays.

The guards opened it, and I stepped inside with them. The people inside turned to me. My heart was beating rapidly, not used to the sudden attention I was receiving. They looked at me in awe from head to toe. I raised my head and looked at the throne. The King, Queen, and Axel hadn't arrived yet, but I was asked to sit on one of the chairs next to the king and queen's throne. I was nervous to see everyone looking at me. "His Majesty King Edmund Hastings, His Majesty Queen Charlene Hastings, His Royal Highness Prince Elric Axel Hastings," the guard loudly said, announcing the arrival of the three people.

The Throne shatters and grows in the same breath, spines twisting like serpents. And in the heart of it— Us. Burning. Breaking. Becoming. The Throne roars a promise in my skull: If I can’t have you, I’ll take HER. And then— Everything goes white.

I run a finger along the edge of the throne admiring the beauty under me. It’s ethereal. The gems reflect the lights as my fingers expose them in a tiny pattern to the light above me. The throne speaks power in itself, and as my finger brushes the surface I feel the surge of light in me; a surge to make people understand how rightfully I deserve the power.

Maybe I can annoy him a little. “Hey what is this throne thing? Everyone keeps throwing that word around like it is a common thing” “A throne is like the position in which a King or a Queen takes.” He kindly explained to me. He sounded like a dictionary. I mentally rolled my eyes. “Why does the king or queen take it?” I asked him. I gave him a fake confused face. “Because of the power it beholds.” “What kind of power does it hold? Do you get like telekinesis or flying power or necromancy or something like that?” he chuckled.

Nothing can interfere with what I’ve already achieved—the dominion that is now mine. With my right hand, Fenrer, by my side, I walk toward the throne room. The space is vast and majestic, adorned with paintings of the kings who came before me. At the far end stands a massive stone throne atop a grand, elevated platform with a marble staircase leading to it. Behind the throne, the wall is made entirely of stained-glass depicting the phases of the moon. I take in the scene prepared by my soldiers—cameras positioned strategically, lights focused on the throne. I stop in front of it, admiring its grandeur, its power, it's meaning.
