There was a tall, blocky man with a jagged golden crown, a woman wearing an oversized silver tiara, a small blob representing a little boy, a giant black dog with six legs, a glowing stick figure surrounded by yellow loops, and a final girl drawn with aggressively angry V-shaped eyebrows. Kael let out a long, dry sigh. "Let me guess. The one with the furious eyebrows is your long-lost aunt?"

I pulled her into a hug, holding her tightly. “Yes. It’s perfect.” She smiled, clearly relieved, her body relaxing against mine. I continued flipping through the drawings, my smile still lingering, until I reached the last one. My hands stilled as I looked at the drawing of four people.

Arya had tried modifying those spots several times, but she could not get them right no matter what. Toph was getting impatient. "Just tear me a piece of paper!" Inside was a drawing—stick figures, crooked lines, and bright marker colors. Three figures stood together, holding hands. One was clearly me, hair scribbled in chestnut brown. One was him, smaller, grinning. And the third—tall, dark scribbles for hair, a suit that looked more like armor. Dominic. My throat tightened. “It’s… it’s perfect, Elliot.”
