she repeated coldly, prying Quinn’s fingers off, “we’ll talk after the results are in.” For a moment, Quinn’s fury faltered. But pride—or greed—forced her to recover. “Fine,” she muttered, feigning composure. “Then at least give us your number, so we can contact you when the results are out.” But Serena had already turned away. Without another glance, she strode toward the elevator, her heels striking against the marble floor in rhythmic defiance. The sound echoed long after she stopped responding. “Serena! Didn’t you hear me?” Quinn shouted after her, voice cracking with frustration.

Pain covered her face. “This power was never yours,” Lyra said shakily. Serena laughed. “And yet you still cannot control it.” Suddenly Serena lifted her hand and dark energy shot toward Lyra violently. “Lyra!” I roared. Lyra raised her power quickly, silver and black energy crashed together and the explosion shook the battlefield, warriors screamed, some fell to the ground from the pressure and Kael turned immediately toward her. I ran faster and Serena attacked again and again without stopping. “She should have died years ago!” Serena screamed.

Me: “Don’t worry. You’ll be out of there soon. Get some rest, Serah. I’m about to sleep too, I’m exhausted.” Serah: “It’s okay, sister. I bet the house feels so big and empty without me.” Me: “Yes, it’s too quiet. But not for long. Soon, it will be filled with baby cries and laughter. I just want to see that adorable baby again. He’s so cute.” Serah: “You’ll see him tomorrow, sister.” Me: “Okay, Serah. I’m hanging up now. Sleep well.” Serah: “Sleep well too, sister.”

Serena’s POV What should I do? Oh God. Please save me. I don't want to die. They wore black suits with a few buttons open and the tattoos told me I wasn't dealing with regular people. “Miss Serena,” the middle one and the tallest said. His voice was smooth but cold. “We're sorry for your loss.” Did he expect me to respond to that after scaring me half way to death? I kept quiet, shivering as he came closer.

Maybe she was hoping to see a crack in the cold exterior I always wore. I didn’t give her the chance. I straightened, my tone shifting. “Now tell me what exactly were you thinking, walking into that meeting and declaring yourself Luna?” Serena took a slow step back, her arms crossing over her chest. “Who are you?” Her expression hardened. “You know who I am.” I arched a brow. “No.” She shook her head. “I thought I did. But every time I think I understand you, you change. One moment, you’re cruel. The next, you’re…” She glanced down at where my hand had been on her stomach. “…something else.”

After a moment of silence she speaks up. "Luna, I-" I cut her off mid sentence. "I would prefer if you didn't call me Luna, please." I say softly. The honorary title makes me out to be what I'm not, which is definitely the Luna of this pack. Raven would be much better suited for the position. Besides, it reminds of of everything I should have been, of everything I've lost. Raven doesn't question me but responds, "What do you want to be called then?" "My name is Serena Infirma, you can call me Serena."
