He faked a side smile and Cataleya squinted. “I'm afraid not.” Cataleya's eyes flashed red as she stepped toward him, throwing off fireballs that he deflected with a shield. She said a spell which lifted her brother and threw him some meters away from her. As he tried to get on his feet, his eyes flashed black and he glared at them, his powers moving all of them except Cataleya away. The twelve vampires regrouped with their vampire speed surrounding him. A whooshing portal opened behind him and Cataleya smirked as she raised her left hand and tightened it, her brother's neck snapped and he dropped there.

Louder, she continued, “You are to serve him tonight for dinner.” Vampires didn’t eat like other creatures. They needed blood to survive, preferably straight from the source. The tributes were mainly selected to be those blood wells. As werewolves could generally heal quickly, I imagined vampires could feast on them many times before the tributes finally succumbed. Knowing that, and knowing that I was the tribute selected to be Vampire Duke Damien’s blood pet, I guessed serving him for dinner meant that I would personally be the food, with my blood on the menu.

"If you can draw out a single drop of my blood from me in the next five minutes then I will personally take you to see Nyxoria, but if you fail, you turn around and go back home. Deal?"
