I stood up from the sofa. Zane takes a last bite of his donut before cleaning off his hands. He then looks up at me, but instead of talking, he just really looks at me, gray eyes staring into mine. I started to wonder if everyone in their Pack looked like one another. Like a bunch of characters from one of Trinity’s favorite movies called Freezer or something with white hairs, frosty skin, and light eyes. Well, if they did, no wonder Keira felt like the odd one out and the irony of it all is they actually did cast her out.

It proves to be my undoing as I blush immediately, going red in the face and neck, to the scrutiny and irritation of the panel watching us both. He is clean shaven, and he even had an haircut. Zane looks beautiful, he has on a form fitting egg shell white shirt and I can't see his pants but I know he pairs this shirt with a navy blue pants that is both free and form fitting at the same time. His skin looks like he hasn't been in the sun for a while, but not in a bad way, he is golden. His flawless face curves up with a small smile, and my heart jolts with a force that is almost painful.

My aim was unwavering, it could be a distraction, and getting distracted is against my training. "Princess relax, it was a test and you seem to pass every test I throw at you." My dad laughed wholeheartedly before he cleared his throat again, "this is Zane Ash and as I said, he is a very good person. A respectable man who built his empire from scratch," he praised Zane as he stared at my figure lustfully, but I was still aiming at his head, "he deals in Nuona and specialized firearms." My eyes widened when I heard Nuona,

His jaw hardened. “She’s in safe hands, I assure you,” Zane cooed, waving them off. His shock vanished, replaced by a maddening, joyless grin. “You are, in fact, in more than safe hands, Nora. When I’m done with your pathetic little life, I’ll crush your arrogance. I’ll ruin you... sister.” His smile widened. “Or rather, a more fitting name... my little SinDoll.”

Sometimes, I swore he was half monkey and not half wolf. “I am focusing.” Zane was standing on the branch now with perfect ease, not even holding onto anything as he scooched out toward the end where the artifact was perched. “But this is a simple task. Can’t we talk? Like the old days?”
