“Three hours ago, I called you for a meeting, and yet you ignored me, Boy.” Zenith leaned back in his chair with lethal calmness, though the veins in his hands tightened around the pen between his fingers. “Not Boy,” he corrected coldly, “Your Alpha, Father. Don’t forget that again.” Giovanni’s jaw clenched. For a brief second, disbelief flashed across his face. His wolf stirred restlessly within demanding dominance but he couldn’t hold his superiority when Zenith’s eyes flashed gold.The aura erupting from him made the room feel smaller.

The world went dark. At some point, I felt myself moving. No, being moved, well, either way, I really didn’t care. I just wanted to sleep, but I couldn’t. I felt a sense of being watched. There was a long silence, stretching the tension in the room. Finally, Zaphyr spoke. “My answer is no.” My brows pinched. “Excuse me?” “You asked for more warriors beyond the two hundred already dispatched. I said no,” he repeated, voice smooth and final. “You’ll use what you already have.”
