Usually alphas are the strongest in the pack but in the case the heir is weak, anyone who feels they’re stronger can issue a formal challenge for the alpha title. Next are the betas. They are usually the alpha’s right hand man or woman. After them there is the gamma. Some packs have gammas while others do not. Darren’s pack didn’t have a gamma and I’m beginning to think Sebastian doesn’t have one either because he hasn’t mentioned anyone. The luna is the alpha's mate and in ranking, she ranks higher than the beta. Then there is the female beta who ranks higher than the gamma. At the bottom are the omegas. By the end of the night I would either be ranked fourth behind Malachi or ranked sixth behind Frank. This was an important part, establishing your place within the pack. Zetas were natural fighters and it made sense for Malachi to push me to be one. Zetas were protectors by nature, the fiercest warriors among the wolves and I felt at ease being called a Zeta. I had the advantage of Alpha blood though and technically I’d be an Alpha Zeta.

I hated to admit it, but he actually made sense. “Well, what about the natural omegas? They aren’t threats.” There were two different types of ranks that werewolves went by, the natural rank, which was your goddess given rank. This determined how strong your wolf was. Jameson Shell of the ancient dragon royal family, at the peak of nine stars, ranked 105 on the nine-star talent list. The corners of Verdant's mouth curled up with a look of interest in his eyes. These two people were planning to attack the person currently undergoing tribulation. Verdant chuckled and turned to whisper into Irvin’s ear.

So far, Sasha told him about the three scariest students in the academy. The first was “Death Princess” who was currently ranked 5. The second was a crazy psychopath, better known as the “Terrorist”, who ranked 11. The third was a blind and effeminate man with the nickname “Seer”, ironically. He was ranked 9. “Do you have their character profiles card?” he asked, and Sasha shook her head. “Don’t need them to know what they’re capable of. It’s an open secret. Do you not know?”

they whispered. "She's missing?" "No, like, she completely disappeared. Almost like she's dead..." "Well, she isn't. That's her score, all right."
